I'm sure I read on here you can get a EAD stamp in Windsor!

If there is a way you can to the Detroit/Windsor border, you can get a stamp there. Darcy worked until December 26th. We filed our AOS shortly after that. I guess we are one of the exceptions to the 90 day rule for EAD card because our AOS was approved in 29 days without interview!!!

P.S. Darcy is from Kelowna, BC. He flew from Kelowna, BC to Hamilton, ON. I picked him up in Hamilton, ON and drove to Windsor/Detroit crossing. I realize that is a bit far from Texas but I wanted to let you know it is possible.

Really? It would be super easy for me to bus it down there since I'm just a few hours north of there, and then presumably fly from maybe the Detroit airport out to Texas?

That sounds like a plan. Yes, you won't have any trouble booking a flight to Texas from Detroit. My last flight that route was with Continental and actually was the first leg of a trip to Colorado - it was cheaper to fly via Houston than a direct flight. Go figure.
