I know this is a big no-no but it would only be temporary. Here's the situation:

Filed OPT.

Got a request for evidence for missing I-20

-- GOT JOB OFFER! --

Completed I-20 and submitted it

Got Denial

My job is suppose to start the 25th and I told them everything was in order to start work then. I've been looking for a job for a very long time and I'm afraid I'll lose the job if I don't figure something out. So I am immediately going to file a new OPT paperwork. My question was, can I work on the 25th and just work while my OPT is being processed. I shouldn't have any reason for it to be denied the second time.

ALSO, I will be getting married at the beginning of the new year as well. So that should forgive my un-authorized work. Correct? Or will I still see any other problems? We are talking about working without EAD for less than three months. Any suggestions? Is this at all possible? I'm desperate...

No you cannot work, and it is unlikely you will be allowed to. On the first day you must do your tax forms in which you also need to provide proof of legal status. You cannot do that, you'll likely lose the job. talk to your HR department, be honest with them.

Good luck

How do you know you won't be denied the 2nd time?

What if your employer wants to verify the paperwork?

You can try to expedite the EAD since you have a job offer.

Don't ever do anything that you know is against the immigration laws. You are only going to put yourself in jeopardy. I know that isn't the answer you really want to hear. Best of luck to you!

How would something that you know "its a big no no"

become "forgivable" if you only do it "temporary (like few months)"?

If its a legit company, the HR will check on your work eligibility

especially if they know you were on F1 visa.

But if you somehow sneak past this check,

you will have implicated the company in breaking the employment law.

Realize how selfish this thinking is.

Its best to follow the rules...especially in America.

Why was your OPT denied? What makes you think it won't be denied again?

Of course you should not try to work without authorization. Even if you wanted to, you probably won't be able to get away with it. On the first day of your job your employer will have you fill out tax forms and ask you provide proof that you can work, which you obviously won't be able to provide.

OP, you cannot work without the necessary documentation; period, full-stop.
