Received Interview date but no EAD/AP?

So we filed in June (petition via marriage), we received our interview date for Sept. 16th 2014. We have not received EAD/AP which we also applied for along with everything else. Is this normal?

06/21/2010 - We first met.

06/06/2012 - My wife first comes to US on F-1 to study

05/19/2014 - We get married!

06/18/2014 - Mail in AOS forms.

06/20/2014 - Confirmed Delivered via USPS 2-day

06/25/2014 - NOA (I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765) via Email/Text Message

06/30/2014 - ASC Appt. Notice for Biometrics received!

07/01/2014 - Hardcopy of NOA received.

07/17/2014 - Appt. to take Biometrics

08/07/2014 - Ready for interview scheduling!

08/10/2014 - Received Interview date scheduled for September 16, 2014

08/27/2014 - Travel Document Approved!

08/28/2014 - EAD Approved!

We got our interview notice a long time before we got the EAD. We received the EAD 2 days before we received the green card, so the EAD wasn't at all useful. Be happy you got your interview so fast!

April 27, 2016: I-751 mailed

May 2: I-751 received

May ??? NOA1

May 12: Check cashed

May 31: Biometrics appointment scheduled

June 1: Biometrics appointment letter arrives!

June 2: Biometrics walk-in

Yes, very normal. They are processed separately and some folks here reported that they received their GC before the EAD/AP card.

Edit: After checking your timeline, I think there's still a chance that you will receive your EAD/AP before your AOS interview, which can still be useful for a few weeks before you receive your GC. :)

same thing happened with us. We have our interview the 18th. But yesterday we did receive a text message alert that the EAD was in document production.

I received my EAD 4 days ago and my interview is a week from today. I thought I would never get EAD by the time of interview and once it was approved it came fast.

Yeah, I had my EAD and AP for about a week or two before the interview was scheduled. No chance to really use them. If they weren't free to file, I wouldn't have bothered much.

Today I used my EAD to renew and update info in my DL so I can bring it to the interview with current address and married name, it was about to expire in Nov. The down side is that it is valid only for 1 year just as EAD, so I will have to renew it again next year.
