Hello everyone:

I start my citizenship 10 months ago via N600, now I just received the notification to appear at the "Oath Ceremony" in 2 weeks (8/26/2014)... I did not have an interview , no finger printing, no civics testing... the letter says to show at the oath ceremony to receive the Administration of Oath, my question is if this is normal or what is going on, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot: FRGG

If you are going through the N600 process, then you are automatically eligible for citizenship based on the citizenship of your parents.

So even if you did have an interview, you wouldn't be required to take the civics test, you'd just have to verify some details about your application.

Sorry, I don't know if it's normal for N600 applicants to skip the biometrics stage too.

Here's what USCIS says:

Will I be interviewed?

Not all applicants for a Certificate of Citizenship are required to appear for an in-person interview. USCIS will determine, based on the evidence submitted in support of your application, whether you are required to appear in person for an interview.

Thanks for your reply JimmyHou, now I guess the questions would be Do I need to study for and interview and civics test just in case they ask me the bunch of questions right before the Oath Ceremony or you guys think that I'm already over the fence with the letter I received, I don't want to look stupid here at this forum but I just don't know what to expect since I been disconnected from the immigration issues long time ago since I got my GC about 26 years ago.

Thanks to all of you for reading and your responses.

They don't do the interview and civics etc at an Oath ceremony usually. If you've had a GC for 26th yrs...I'm not sure why you are gaining citizenship via N600? Your details seem out of order, perhaps you can explain more?

Yeah...my mom was a US citizen, when I born I guess the ignorance of the process for immigration lead us to get the GC instead to apply directly to citizenship, we ( my siblings and me) move to the US long time ago and now that the life is getting harder just being a permanent resident we decided to get the citizenship, were we have not found a single problem to get it, it is a little problematic to see how easy the citizens cross the border from Mexico or Canada with no problems at all and on my case Ive seen a lot of questioning specially when I been coming back from Canada, however Im really tired of seen problems when I suppose to be a citizen with no problems at all plus the bunch of extra benefits that the citizenship comes with.... Thanks a lot Udella&Wiz. I hope that this make any sense to you guys.
