January 2014 TSC K1 filer here....still waiting on NOA2! My Senator's office was useless, Congressman's office told me that "it shouldn't be too much longer" and that was weeks ago. E-request that I submitted USCIS never replied.

Anyone have any luck with an infopass appointment to get a status update or to at least push a little? I've checked the SRC numbers around mine and all of them have been worked on in some way or another (RFE or approval), yet mine....nothing!

They must be doing extra checks because of the country of the beneficiary.

Getting the senator involve makes things worse cause THEY pulled your file aside ,now they are approving March Filers.

Where did you get this information?!!

We contacted our senator and congressman and got approved 5 days later. They do not pull your case aside and that does not delay it.

There was a Q & A post on VJ with a previous USCIS adjudicator. They were asked about this topic of congressman and senator involvement, and stated that in fact, it may speed up the approval process due to USCIS not wanting congressional attention. http://www.visajourney.com/content/adjudicator-q-and-a

I'm thinking that people wouldn't suggest getting help from a Senator if they knew it would delay their case approval, that's definitely not how it works. The only thing that would delay a case (aside from a massive backlog) is extra security checks or an RFE, and a Senator can do nothing about those. If anything they might be able to at least tell you what the hold up is, which is better than knowing nothing.

Do you have proof of this? Have you got a link to someone saying that contacting their senator prolonged their approval?
