Hi everybody,

On June 17 we received the NOA2 that our petition had been approved. On July 7 we received the letter from the NVC that our petition had been forwarded to the embassy in Sweden, and that we would hear from them once they are ready to process our case.

I think I read somewhere that this should take around a month and now it's been five weeks (yes, we are very impatient and just ready to start our lives now!). How long have you guys been waiting after having received the NOA2 until you got the letter from the embassy?

Our's took 22 days from seeing approval on USCIS web site (NOA2) to receiving Packet 3 letter.

You can see the detail timeline in my (as well as other's) signatures.

10-04-2013 We met online
11-21-2013 We met in person in Shanghai for 2 weeks

12-13-2013 I-129F packet sent via express

12-19-2013 USCIS NOA #1 (text and email) received

12-24-2013 USCIS assigns Alien Registration Number
12-31-2013 USCIS NOA #1 hard copy received
06-02-2014 USCIS web site shows NOA #2 approval

I think the time it leaves NVC to the embassy depends by region. Mine was sent to Peru from NVC and it reached the embassy in about 8 days or so.

You could try this to see the status of the NVC package:

1. Use the case number from NVC to find the status here:

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=WwjqOlbeRYzCYubaSQI+RA==

If the status says "ready" it means that the embassy already received the case from NVC and they entered it in their system,

If not it will still say "in route" which means it has not reached the embassy yet and you can keep checking back.

2. If it says "ready" you could try to reach the embassy directly at the US Embassy in Sweden and see if you can get an answer directly from them or even request an electronic copy of the interview letter and the instructions sent to you (the petitioner) via email. I don't know if this is possible at that US Embassy in Sweden, but you could try.

Not sure about Sweden but we got an email only. And it came to me, the Petitioner, not the beneficiary.

K-1 Visa -  Date of arrival to US  Aug 30, 2014

Married September 26, 2014

AOS: SEPT 24th, 2015 GREEN CARD RECEIVED !! 

ROC:  Oct 10, 2018    Approval of ROC via online USCIS site.  

Naturalization: March 26th, 2021 Approved!!

As of 2022, we are working towards moving back to Australia likely in 2025.

Hi guys,

Thank you so much for your replies!

I looked at the links you sent me and it said 'No Status' on my case so I of course called the embassy in Sweden to ask about this. The woman I talked to said they'd never received anything from the NVC, which of course was not good news. I then called the NVC and they said that they had sent them our petition on July 7. Panicked, I wrote the embassy in Sweden (they were of course closed at this time) to ask again and thankfully the answer came back this morning that they had sent the checklist for interview to us via email.

I don't know where the mismatch comes from but at least everything is in order. Now I just need to figure out how to get the email with the checklist. It'll probably be a couple of days of calling different people and sending out emails, haha.
