QuikTrip Employee: Workers Hid in Back Room as Ferguson Store Was Looted, Set On Fire

FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOX) – The clean-up today is involved at the Mobil gas station, with pump equipment broken and glass shattered.

Just up the street, at QuikTrip, a young worker recalls hearing yells of “We’re in!” as the store was looted.

He says when he saw people running and yelling outside the store last night, he knew what to do.

“Me and my co-workers ran into our back room,” he says. “Once we ran into the back room, we locked the door and we called the cops and the security people. They told us to stay put, and if we wouldn’t have stayed put we most likely would have died.”

He says when he and his co-workers huddled in hiding in the back room, they could hear bricks being thrown through the windows.

They put jackets over their heads and ran through the looters, and out the back door.

His mom says he almost didn’t go in to work that day.

“He had a gut feeling something was going to happen,” she says. “I told him to make the decision whether he was going to come to work or not. He chose to come to work. He loves his job.”

there is no back door at quiktriup, there is a side door, a fire door. I used to work there. back room is a fire trap.

This situation could have caused the death of many more people. Trapped burned alive, Next time you read about a flash mob....It is just a training run for future riots. To have a nonviolent public outcry over the shooting is a right in this country.... Wanton destruction of private property looting and even death of innocent persons (it could have happened.) not justified.

Will this business ever get rebuilt.. ???? 50 years ago I lived was near a city where the riots happened. Jewish folks owned the businesses. Small grocery stores,shoe stores ect.. Today Just empty lots where drug dealers and hookers ply their trade. No one dared to rebuild. ... or wanted to.
