Hello fellow VJ-ers! I've not been very active on here, but I have been reading posts mostly thanks to the weekly updates I get every... Sunday?...and they've been great!

Anyway, just got an e-mail from USCIS- can anyone help me understand what this means for us/ our case? This is what I've got:

From: USCIS-CaseStatus@dhs.gov

Subject: Case Status Information for Receipt Number: XXXXXXXXX

E-mail:

Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Your Case Status: Initial Review

On August 11, 2014, we transferred this case I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

This is the first update we've had since receiving the NOA1 in mid April 2014. Could this mean things are speeding up or slowing down? I'm also checking with our attorney, but I want to see if any of you have gotten similar e-mails lately. Thanks!!

I got the same follow-up email yesterday night- stating that our case was sent to my local USCIS office. The attorney's office we're working with said they have a handful of other clients who have gotten similar notices and for them it has meant fast(er) (relatively!) processing times. So hopefully this means the ball is rolling and we will hear something soon!

We got these notices too at the end of June online (and a hard copy in the mail around the same time saying transfer was for faster processing). Our petition was approved 5 weeks after the transfer. It was transferred from Texas to California (stated in the hard copy).
