I have a black furry cat but don't have pics of her on my computer. I used to think she was a Maine ####### cat but after seeing yours and cbd2cai's I think she's just a large domestic long hair 'cause she's not as big as those are!

it took them several weeks to get used to each other. both cats were used to being alone. they never had a fight, fortunately quitt is very gentle with nietzsche, who jumps on him all the time and wants to play

So cute!! We have a couple cats too, Linky and Chai Chai and this was Chai Chai's first snow. Unlike your Nietzshe though she HATED it, she didn't come near the door to run out for 2 days lol.

Your one cat reminds me of one of my cats I had to leave back in Canada.... I left him with an old roommate whom he seemed to like better then me anyways .... He was a great cat... he wasn't a lap cat but he usually slept on my feet when I was in bed and when I was feeling sad or something he would come and sit right beside me and let me pet him I miss him ....

he looks almost exactly like your cat except he has an orange spot on his nose ....

So as a new cat mommy, I need to know....cats can deal with the cold? When it gets to like 40 degrees and Mimi is curled in a ball outside, should I be getting her some blankets? Cos I get her the blankets and then she doesn't go near them...doesn't go in the cat cube I bought her either.

But if cats can deal with snow, this weather should be nothing, right?

My experience is anything I buy specifically for Nietzshce, he will ignore. He will sleep in my bed, or the couch (if I'm watching tv lying there), he'll even lie down on the rug close to the shower and watch me shower (yeah, i know, weirdo). So getting him blankets would be a waste of money.

At first I was really afraid he would be cold here, but cats can handle cold weather more than we can.

She's a stray that I recently adopted. Can't have her in the house cos I'm actually very allergic to cats

plus, the shedding hair grosses me out. But I do the best I can for her!

In Malta they have so many wild/stray cats that when you're driving you see dead ones, that have been hit by cars, along the road all the time.

It is horrible. But on the plus side, every colony of cats seems to have a "feeder". A person who makes up food for them and brings it to them twice a day. They also try to catch them and get them neutered when they can.

If she was cold, she'd go in her cat cube (or somehow get tangled in those towels). I betcha she's just fine.

I was never a cat person, always had dogs, but we now have a cat and I cant believe how much he means to me and how much fun he is to watch and play with.

He stays indoors but I am sure he would love to go outside to play in the snow....not gonna risk it though he would probably run off to chase the local squirrels..lol
