I filed an I-129F petition for a K1 visa in February. On August 7th, I received an email notifying me that the petition had been approved, and in today's mail I received the I-797. It states that "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance..."

I'm confused because:

1. I had expected the I-797 to indicate the petition was being forwarded to NVC, and

2. There is no consulate listed anywhere on the notice

Anyone else have a similar experience?

The consulate that is mentioned on NOA-2 you have listed it on your I-129F form.

1. Your petition is going to the NVC - it's just a generic letter they send out - it has to go through NVC to create the visa!!

2. The consulate you listed in form I-129f - they didn't list it in this NOA2 cos again, it's a generic letter.

Thank you, Kay&Jay.

I see you are just beginning the process. I hope things move much more quickly for you than they did for those of us who originally filed in January and February.
