- One piece of ID (passport, or driver's licence, or ID card, for example)

- Appointment letter

- Marriage certificate, if the name on your ID is different from the name on your appointment letter (i.e. one is in your maiden name and the other is in your married name).

Actually, yes you do. I don't know how recent this change was, but it was mentioned on the phone when I made the appointment. My husband went to his immigration medical appointment just several days ago, and THREE US passport-sized photos (2"x2") were required, they were all stapled to separate copies of the medical documents.

This may sound strange but I thought I needed the finger prints (criminal record check) much earlier than I did and had heard that the computer ones were taking the Canadian government ages to do so thought I would do them in advance. Well long story short is that I don't have enough finger print for it to pick up,on the computer (digital) , so I had them done with the ink...same thing no fingerprint. I was given a letter by the police station verifying this but will happen when I go for the biometrics??? I was fingerprinted last week at the border and the border patrol guard blamed the machine for only being able to get one partial print. Not sure if I should tell them in advice or wait or will they do iris scan or something else??? Yes , I know this sounds weird and flakey. I asked at police station and the officer said only once has he seen that happen, it was a young Japanese student. So no, not a criminal or anything. And I am also confused as to which side does the printing ( my visa is cr1) to go to u.s. I am canadian. I know there is also two types of criminal checks the local one or the much longer one that can take months to get....which one will they want??
