Just an update. Wife's K3 visa in hand, so for those who say it is non existent, I have proof that it does in fact exist.

It is probably very rare to get K3 visas anymore, but there are some ppl who do indeed get them.

No one has said it doesn't exist. It does. It's just very rare.

Most of the time people don't bother to even try since the IR1/CR1 is superior and takes just as long. However with the backlogs at the NVC people are trying now more than ever because $1310 is worth the 6 months to many people.

Hi! I'm in a similar situation- I just filed the I-129F today, as I am still waiting for the approval of my I-130. I have to return to the US for a job in January and I hate the fact I may have to leave my husband behind in Aus! So I figure, it can't hurt, if anything it shows how desperate I am haha :)

Good luck!

Well it can hurt. Did you put your US address or your Australia address on your I-130? What service center do you have?

The I-130 will be taken out of line and placed with the I-129F. So you potentially can lose a month or more of processing time at the USCIS.

I put down my Australian address and the California Service Centre is processing my I-130. I hadn't read anywhere it might jeopardise timing of the I-130.... freaking out now... I only mailed it yesterday, if this is indeed the case I might be able to call and cancel it?!

No don't worry about it. Because you're still in Australia and used your Oz address, and where it is being processed (plus your NOA1 date is Sept 2), I'm going to bet that you'll have NOA2 in about 2 months tops.
