Show me another country on the planet where a whole group of people is held hostage with the full support of the U.S. govt. Not only that, show me another country who is slowing annexing land that doesn't belong to them, while the U.S. govt. rewards them with billions in aid. Try to think in the present instead of citing some reference from the 1800s.

Show me another country under constant siege from rocket fire, one that has more country leaders around the world calling for its destruction, one other where there refer to land won by wars (that were started by others) as "annexation", one that gets falsely labeled as "occupiers" even thought they completely left that territory years ago... The list is endless.

In addition, given relatively the tiny size of the Jewish population, there has been more widespread anti-Semitism than hatred against any other religion in the world for centuries. While it cannot be denied that one can genuinely disagree with government policy, there is no doubt that many of these haters love to get behind the "oppose the government policy" meme to lend legitimacy to their anti-Semitism.

Operation Protective Edge has led to a significant spike in anti-Semitic incidents worldwide, according to an Anti-Defamation League (ADL) report published on Thursday.

Britain experienced a 400 percent rise in anti-Semitic incidents during July, with 302 incidents reported, compared to 59 incidents in the corresponding period last year. In nearly half the incidents, there was a direct link between the anti-Semitic act and events in the Gaza Strip.

Among the incidents cited in the report: In the Netherlands, popular rapper Rachid El Ghazoui shouted "F--k the Zionists, F--k the Talmud"; in Belgium crowds chanted "Slaughter the Jews!"; and in Madrid, thousands marched with banners reading "Israel enough, you are not the chosen people."

The ADL report found that the majority of anti-Semitic incidents occurred in South America, especially in Venezuela, where Israeli flags were placed next to swastikas. About 25 percent of the anti-Semitic acts reported took place on social media platforms.

"As Israel defends its citizens from Hamas' rockets, Jews around the world have also come under attack," the report said.

"Jews have been beaten on the street. Synagogues have been fire-bombed. 'Jews to the gas' has been chanted at anti-Israel demonstrations. Newspapers in the Arab world and in Latin America have published pieces making blatant comparisons between Israel and the Nazis' perpetration of the Holocaust."

While they're not even close to the same things, they seem to institute some of the same policies. The way they oppress people that are the "wrong" religion etc. How they bomb defenseless civilians in densely populated areas. Kind of ironic, isn't it?

While not agreeing even with your statement, I can accept it as legitimate criticism.(see, not all criticism is anti semitic). Cause you acknowledge they're not even close to the same things, even though they seem to institute some of the same policies. Ok, agree to disagree there.

However, you have some who don't even say that. Their attempt to rob the victim of its victimhood by not acknowledging what actually happened to it via saying it is doing the exact same thing now can be seen as nothing but ignorant or even anti semitic. It's basically the same as holocaust denial. It's incredibly obnoxious.

I think people go to those extremes (which I don't agree with BTW) because one would think that folks that went through something like that, would be more sensitive to the plight of others. However, it's been shown to be quite the opposite.

For a group of people that have been historically treated as second class citizens to turn around and treat another group of people as second class citizens is bizarre to me.
