I don't recall that ever being a theme in the Mainstream media. He was a troubled teen.

Looks like your run of the Mill average teenager

Call me cynical but I can not help wondering if the media is looking for photos like this?

What I keep getting told the main stream press portrayed him as a out of control gang banger . LOL

By the way Marvin...and you too Janelle.

I never once for a second thought that either of you would partake in the looting if this happened in your neighborhood. Maybe attend a vigil or a protest but that it. I have read enough from both of you to consider you good and decent people.

There....my one good speech for the month

This happened in my neighborhood. I've from St. Louis. Ferguson is about 5 minutes from my house.

That's BS. TM was portrayed as a sweet 14 year old kid out to get skittles. Major media outlets even got caught altering the 911 tapes to make GZ look even worse.

I think Janelle could get off the chain and crack a few heads.. Steal no :)

Check my reply to your last post. https://twitter.com/hashtag/iftheygunnedmedown?src=hash

My point was, when white kids are gunned down, only the best pictures are used. It's only high school diploma shots or anything that can't be construed as being less than wholesome.

They should. Because if white teens are killed, you never see them at parties drinking beers in wife beaters.

you must have a troubled memory.

but you're even doing it now. you don't like the picture of him when he was younger, you feel that isn't a representation of who he was at the time of his death. honestly only a mother or father could defend the use of his picture correctly, but i do honestly believe that if tm was white - we would never question a picture from a couple years prior. wouldn't we assume mourning and nostalgia after the shock of such a sudden death?

but no, his parents were trying to pull the wool over our eyes, have us believe he was young and innocent not worthless and deserving of death.

My point exactly. This is why I posted that #Iftheygunnedmedown. People wanted the thuggish pictures used because it lent credibility to GZ's case. By painting that portrait, folks look at TM as the boogeyman, some dangerous monster.

I do no think it was the Parents trying to twist the story.

teenagers can physically change completely overnight. or at least it can seem that way. discipline problems can become uncontrollable just as fast, not so much in dealing with the actions of the teen but in dealing with the reaction (or lack of proper action) from schools and police.

we also have to keep in mind that children/teens in ghettos have a completely different relationship with law enforcement - start to finish - than children/teens from even slightly better off neighborhoods.

al sharpton then. he seems to be brought up a ton here, although most don't much consider him relevant to much.

And when they act out, there's a proper way to deal with it. But, as you pointed out, depending on the race and where they reside, determines how things are handled by the police.

Al and Jesse seem to be universally hated here. As if they're the ones doing the deed themselves. It seems like people who experience these issues should just remain silent and deal with it.

I find it funny you didn't post the pictures that have white people mixed into the crowd as well.

I find it funny that you said that. The first thing I noticed was the three white officers, then the white guy in the background on the right. Didn't even SEE a black person until I read your comment and went back and looked.

She was commenting on how LIB focuses on black people to the point of obsession.

Not really. I know more than a few guys who have dreads who wear business suits. Do they count? My workout partner sags his pants, he's a contractor and an Senior Master Sergeant in the Air Force. Does he fit the bill?

He fits the bill of he-who-wants-the-world-to-see-his-derrierre, if he dresses like that. And he is contributing to the impression that most people seem to have of people who can't wear their pants the way they were made to be worn. I don't get the attraction of guys doing that...

is that what happened, a bunch of bad black people were waiting on the edge of their seats for a white cop to execute a black man for jaywalking so they could get some free stuff?

I cannot say for sure that they were on the "edge of their seats", but apparently they thought they had the right to do the crime.
