the pictures i've seen have had to do with protests/rioting.

You would have thought a picture of the victim would be high on the list.

Did this guy shoot at him? Or was he unarmed?

He didn't shoot. I have seen no reports that he was armed. Even if he was armed....he would have to at least raise the weapon towards the cop before the cop would be legally allowed to shoot.

I think I may need to give reading lessons.

Is that specific to the State?

None needed.

It just seems you are okay with an unarmed person being killed.

Maybe you are changing your stance now. Good for you.

Hispanic OJ

Good catch :dancing:

I need to brush up on which race everyone is.

Is that specific to the State?

I don't know the exact words or where which states draw the line on when an officer is allowed to fire. It may vary. Cops carry guns with live ammunition. If they were never allowed to shoot someone......why even bother carrying one.

The white OJ?

Before Nicole, OJ didn't have a record. GZ had about 3 priors, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer, and 2 domestic violence with 2 different women. TM had been suspended from school for fighting, smoking weed, stealing some jewelry, and graffiti. Yet, he was portrayed as a menace to society. And GZ is protected, even when he kept having issues with the law.

I don't remember saying that.

When I think about it some instances yes. A home invasion , especially at night for one. Maybe a mob type scene where the person felt the only way to get out alive was to shoot. I could probably think of more......but this case we are talking about is not one of them. I am sure the victim was defiant(thats just a guess...sounds like maybe a fight) but either way the officer is held to a higher standard. Plus this was in broad daylight.

Well it was very similar how they both killed...found not guilty...and then ended up in trouble again. But.....let us not lose focus. Sorry for the highjack

By the way Marvin...and you too Janelle.

I never once for a second thought that either of you would partake in the looting if this happened in your neighborhood. Maybe attend a vigil or a protest but that it. I have read enough from both of you to consider you good and decent people.

There....my one good speech for the month

no i mean like when they portrayed tm as a waste of space no future wannabee gangbanger.

I don't recall that ever being a theme in the Mainstream media. He was a troubled teen.

You mean like when they portrayed Tm as an Angelic 14 year old . I think some may do that, but not the mainstream media

i don't think there are too many laws on the books of any state that warrant death by cop, without due process. we are in america, right?

who is that?

I think what is meant is, that in most cases it is justified, not that the person deserved to die. Two very different things. However with the advent of cell phone cameras we are seeing a lot of excessive force out there. The cops also seem to have a fetish for killing peoples dogs .

In Boulder County one killed an Elk, that did prove a bit tricky to justify.

I have no issue if the Dog is one of those attack breeds, but Labradors and Golden Retrievers I am not buying.

That's BS. TM was portrayed as a sweet 14 year old kid out to get skittles. Major media outlets even got caught altering the 911 tapes to make GZ look even worse.
