2. it was your scenario.

3. you do realize you're talking to a woman right? do you think i want a bunch of similarly minded folk to tell me that i can't wear a tank top that exposes my bra-strap? do you think i want a cop to be legally able to stop me as i'm walking and measure the length of my skirt? women used to wear corsettes, and they looked much more pleasing to the eye than without, maybe we should go back to that?

so, no i disagree.

4.and you're wrong about the reasons for dresscodes in school. my son could go to school wearing very short soccor shorts if he chose to do so, but girls are regularly brought in to nurse's office to have their shorts measured for the 4 inch rule. have you tried to find shorts that go no further than four inches above the knee for a 8-12 year old girl? good friggin luck.

i'm not scared of other people's bodies and if i happen to see someone elses privates, which i don't think has ever happened to me outside of the couple pedos i've drivin alongside on 66, i look away. it doesn't matter. america could go full on nudist colony tomorrow, i'd still wear clothes and i'd still leave the house with my eyes open.

anyway, as a kid i never understood why boys could swim with their shirts off and i had to wear a top. it's silly.

That's why I am using the other "obscenities" such as sex and nudity to compare to the saggin thang. I guess when looked at overall, it's not really that big of an issue, but I still think it looks dumb. Over the past 100 years, dress codes have changed quite a bit.

And for the record, yeah, the name Valeria kinda gave the gender away. And since I am a fan of the fairer sex, I also support your right to swim topless. Or drive around town with nothing on. So I guess I need to change my stance on saggin, so as not to be a hypocrite.

Not that it matters, but I saw a coupla polls about laws against saggin pants, once was 59% for and another was 61% for laws and fines against the hip trend. Might be coming to a city near you soon, too.

ETA: 4. Sorry, I thought you were referring to those schools that insist the kids wear the same clothes so they all "match equally".

we are all taught that men could not handle the pressure of looking without touching. if all women were to go around parading their breasts for all to see, what will stop men from taking whats in front of them?

i personally don't agree with this, but this is our society as it stands.

It works in Europe. They have schwimbads where all are nekkid, and I've been to glacier-fed lakes where all swim in various states of undress. Had a lovely lady plop down next to me once, remove her top, and go to sunnin'. Nice. But 5 towels down, the 45 year old woman who probably weighed 250 lbs... not so attractive. Or maybe I'm just too picky.

yeah well, i would look at the source of those polls and who answered. i don't know exactly what polls you're referring to but retired folks at home midday watching fox news would be my guess.

Hear, hear! We at least deserve the benefit of the doubt. Off with those tops, ladies, let's see how we men behave!

Honestly. If it were common it would not be a big deal.

I have never been into a strip club, but my buddies tell me, that after about 15 mins, it's like YAWN another hot naked woman

I stand corrected. White people do get the business from the police. I will now take some personal time to reflect learning this.

i teach my son respect has to be earned. i don't see any reason to respect a person simply because they have a badge. i know how easy it is to get one.

I really hope you're not being serious here

Thank you. If we could all just join together to stand unified against injustice and brutality. I can tell you that , when the agitators come in and people start screaming racism, looting and burning, white america will turned a juandiced ear to the plight of this poor kid .

Ever see a time to kill ? Remember at the end when MM was talking to the jury. He said words to the effect, imagine that poor girl drug thru the dirt, raped, so forth and so on, then he said, Now imagine if she was white ?

This has to be approached, as, this could be any kid USA. We have to unite as a people. When the idea is promoted that he was executed for being black, that it never happens to white people and then the looting and rioting starts it turns the sympathy machine down to a low hum .

The usual suspects need to shut up and white and black need to join hands to protest a senseless killing.

I agree with Val. You should not respect someone just cause they have a badge. Now you should not do anything that is going to get you in trouble either. Be polite, courteous but always assert your rights.

it's not that simple, and neither is offering respect where none is due.

i'm not talking about telling my kid not to listen to a cop when a cop is giving him orders, i don't have a death wish for my son.

i had an experience in highschool that ended with a friend of mine (13-14 at the time) being questioned aggressively by 5+ police, without a parent or lawyer present - without being charged or even considered a suspect in the crime they questioned him over. he was trapped in a conference room at the court house like that for hours. when his mother found out, she was so angry, she was going to file a lawsuit. but she came to her senses when she realized it was her 'punk' son's word against a rack of cops who all had each other's back.
