Tracking, that's what the other guys wanted too. Remember that these are people you are talking about. Real, actual human beings.

Labeling people is wrong. Star of David badge, ankle bracelets, implanted GPS trackers, its all an affront to freedom.

wait - what ?

back at post #1 - I am shocked that fingerprints are not made, footprints are not made, and blood taken for dna stamping, with records kept in perpetuity.

wth?

All of those things generally require consent. That's the point. You can't just 'take' them...

And you might want to be careful of the parallels and analogies you make. That's not an accusation to be taken lightly.

I think the parallel was clear and quite valid. What was suggested was not how one would treat a fellow human being. And regardless of how one feels about the issue of illegal immigration, fellow human beings these migrants are. And when discussing the issue, we should never forget that. Or allow others to forget it.

Fingerprints and DNA require consent? Seems they entered without inspection which is against the law. Everyone that is arrested in most counties submit a DNA sample these days, and all of them are finger printed.

They should require consent.

They should require consent.

Everyone that breaks the law and is arrested should have to give consent before providing finger prints and a DNA sample? The Supreme Court says otherwise.

Well it depends what we are talking about and what the infraction is. Given that illegal immigration isn't strictly a crime and we're talking about minors, I would have thought that forcing someone to submit a DNA or provide a fingerprint would be fraught with legal problems.

Entering the U.S. without inspection is a crime. I've posted that probably 20 times since Obama decided to stop enforcing that law. I can look it up again.

If you're apprehended at the border, it is a civil matter.

Civil matter? Is the U.S. govt going to sue them?
