Why not Fan_Dancer?...I sure would marry a 81 year old man as long as we are happy, respect and love each other...

Really what does age got to do with it?

If you live long enough you too shall get old....

My life and my relationship is not deemed by a age difference.

Kudos to you then!

Well, why wait?

At the age of 18 I am a consenting adult, with emphasis on 'Adult'.

Yes, I am young, but no I'm not immature, I know what I need and what I need is her.

Many years down the road when you are in your 30's or 40's, you will look back at the time when you were 18 and realize you were just a young and dumb kid.

Enjoy your youth, Have a great time dating many people while you are young..

A lawyer who tells you he/she can waive any of the USCIS filing requirements is flat-out lying to you. Run...run like the wind.

Do it yourself, unless you've got some complex legal issues (drug charges, child custody problems, or the like).

If you invest a little time reading the guides on this site, you can do it yourself just fine.

"Incorrect" in who's judgement?

You are the ultimate judge on "correctness" and "incorrectness" for everyone?

It may not make a difference, but it can...depending on their situation.

If a 23 year old is the USC, then that person could be a college graduate with sufficient income to live on,

but a 18 year old is USC, who has barely graduated from high school, then will have limited good income job situations.

So back to my comment on "it could change the financial picture a bit"...

Based on his writing, its unclear as to who's the USC...

Incorrect in that facts? They matter! For example, an Aussie gentleman by the name of Benjamin Denyer writes:

At the age of 18 I am a consenting adult, with emphasis on 'Adult'.

... I believe Sara (My Fiance) is best for me.

And he also writes that the man in this case is younger than the woman, that they have met, and that he stayed with her and all the tourist things they did together (Grand Canyon, Bearazona, Seaworld San Diego, Six Flags Magic Mountain, San Diego Zoo). In fact, all those details are in the first post.

But for giggles, go ahead and search the internet for his name. You'll find out what he does for a living and where she lives, and how reading comprehension really goes a long way.

(BTW, Benjamin & Sara? Might want to lock that stuff down a bit more, if you don't want people knowing those sorts of details about you.)

Oh, I totally missed the stuff about where he went with her when he visited her. Thank you. My understanding was incorrect and it is all cleared up now. The 23 year old female USC is the one that needs to provide the I-134 and later the I-864. Got it.

Yup I got confused with him saying I stayed with "here" rather than "her". :-)

By the way, OP, I read on VJ site somewhere to not disclose your real name and contact info.

FYI, many US schools and employers hire firms to (or on their own) do internet searches on all the contents

that you have posted. It's best use nicknames to disguise your identity.

The poster came on here asking about the visa process. I didn't see where they solicited advice about their personal life, about if they should get married at their age or not.

If it was my kid, I'd probably offer an opinion, but it's not, so I won't. It is, frankly, none of my business.

I made mistakes in my youth, I made HUGE mistakes. I could have taken Computer Science and gotten a job offer from Bill Gates like a buddy of mine (who turned it down) in 1983. Where were you guys back then with the advice?

Seriously, the real regrets I have looking back is the Sh.. I did not do, not the dumb sh.. I did.

My ex-wife's grandparents celebrated 70 years together after getting married at 18. Good luck to you.

The financial aspect really matters. You can be denied if you do not meet the requirements or do not have a sponsor. I knew someone who had her interview (she's the beneficiary), they even asked her what she plans on doing for work in the U.S. If they are not convinced that the USC can support you or that your beneficiary will not become a public charge, you can be denied.

Age sort of matters in this case because if you are young, you probably do not have as much savings as say someone who is in his/her 30s. I can say that I am much better off right now with a good job than when I was 18, just about to starting college and with little job experience. Life is going to hit you in the face when you will see all the costs.

Well, we've done a lot of research on jobs/schools and even costs of living in the places and states we wish to live in, we can get a sponsor, although I don't plan on relying on that sponsor.

As for the savings part, that's kind of assuming, my savings is actually quite good and I believe I have enough to live for at least 6 months without a job (Although I do not intend to have to do so)

I plan on getting a job as soon as possible, my fiancee is part way through with her college education and I plan to allow her to finish before I venture off to college, due to the costs of tuition and classes.

It may get rough at times, but I have belief in myself and in her that we can do it.

Living in America is significantly cheaper than here in Australia, I do understand the minimum wage is also a lot lower there in the US but I do believe we will get by just fine with the right budgeting.

I do understand what you're saying though and I appreciate the reply, thank you.
