Can I travel with the extension letter?

I heard that you have to stamp that letter from the US embassy from where ever you traveling to be able to use to come back to the U.S. Is this correct? and I also heard that you encounter problems at the airport of the country where you travel as they don't recognize that extension letter for the green card? advice please because I might travel abroad while my ROC is pending.

the one year extension the same as green card you can travel with that letter original one.bring along your marriage certificate just in case it's needed, are you using your foreign passport to go make sure your name is matching the airline ticket should be the same name, coming home to the u.s you show the one year extension letter at the poe you should be fine.

If you use a major airline with regular service to the US you should be fine. I would still check with your airline that they know about the extension letter and accept it. Your troubles will be with uninformed and poorly trained airline personnel when you try to board the aircraft back to the US. They may deny you boarding because you do not have a valid document that allows your to re-enter the US because they are unfamiliar with the extension letter. It is always best to confirm before you travel.
