The real question is whether an armed population makes society more or less safe, not whether guns kill.

I'd say that an armed population makes society safer, when the criminals are already well armed. If the criminals didn't have the amount of firearms that they have, then I'd say no, there is no reason for the U.S. population to be armed. Unless of course your concerned about the Kenyan becoming dictator for life.

I think that question is irrelevant. I'm progun clearly. However a population without arms is going to be safer period.

The question for me is, do I have a right to have a force multiplier to defend myself. The answer is clearly yes in this nation.

They aren't lethal without ammunition per the OP.

So back to the practically gun free zone. I thought gun aficionados avoid those because they're so dangerous? Are we now saying that putting ammunition off limits makes a place suitable for alcohol consumption? Shouldn't ammunition then also be banned at bars and restaurants that serve alcohol? I'll be damned if I had not read on this board how carrying loaded guns into restaurants was a good idea and improves safety. So which is it?

I do think bars should be gun free zones. Restaurants, not so much.

most CHL holders in Texas carry at places whether or not it is a Gun Free zone. Only place I wouldn't carry would be in a post office or inside a school in texas..

So do you feel safer today ,, Than say a year or two.ago? We are being invaded with these 9 year olds..and such.

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. They are going to help us live the good and just life, even if they have to lie to us and force us to do it. And they detest those who stand in their way."

I think drinking and driving should be illegal too. Anyone who drives to a bar shouldn't be allowed to drink. Bars would be safer if they were car free.

Too bad you didn't meet Gary from Vermont, a long time poster here.

He said he concealed carried everywhere, even in the shower. Not sure how and don't want to know, but impressive none the less.
