We have matching stamps from 6 border crossings we did together in the past year. In addition we have one set of matching thai visas and one set of matching cambodia visa extensions. Is that enough? We have no boarding passes, but we do have two matching reservations from our email. We have no hotel receipts.

In my mind, the matching passport data should be sufficient to prove that we were together, but I am often wrong about these sort of things.

I am currently staying with her at her parent's home. I believe some form was submitted to the police but I'm not sure how descriptive it is. Plus it would be in Vietnamese. Is it worth trying to get a copy of that? Keep in mind it's quite a hassle trying to get anything from the police here.

Passport stamps are best evidence (your Thai and cambodian visas.). copies of reservations and any other receipts (from purchases etc)are supporting evidence . Anything that proves you were in the same place at the same time including photos of the two of you, showing that you were at that location. Sounds like you will be ok.. type a brief itinerary of names of places with dates that you travelled to and spent time together with the supporting stamps, receipts and photos attached. Simple but clear.. you only have to show that you have been together once, so pick the best and most simple example and only send copies.. no originals needed. All the best..

They want proof that you met in person and that its a bona fide relationship,

so we sort of staged my pictures to prove that by...

1. Taking pictures in front of famous local landmark to prove that I visited

2. Taking pictures with her families and friends at separate dinners

to show that this relationship is announced

(and hopefully blessed by the showing of smiles in the picture)

3. Taking pictures close together to show that you two are lovers

Even without the boarding passes, you should include your itinerary,

and you local police report of your stay. Also, emails, chat logs, phone calls, etc.

All of these evidence will contribute towards smoother processing.

Did you purchase the tickets or did you cross by land? If you flew, get the CC statement to show those purchases--you would not likely purchase an airline ticket for a stranger. Airlines keep information for up to two years. You could call them up and see if you can get the Itineraries--maybe even the seat assignments or boarding passes. As the others have stated, photos of the two of you together in those places would be good secondary evidence. I am afraid the CO will see the same stamps in your passports which means the two of you were in the same country at the same time, but you need to show that you actually met and that is where a photo or two would help close the evidence chain. My wife and I had few photos of us together, but you really only need one or two to make your case much stronger. You should have enough, but the CO is the one making that determination.

Good luck,

Dave

Oh we've got thousands of photos. We've been travelling together for more than a year. Also the entire relationship is documented on facebook including when we met and when we began a relationship.

It's just that we really don't have anything in the way of receipts, boarding passes or other paperwork. The credit card statement is a good idea. We also have a joint bank account with both our names on it. Is that weird for a non-married couple to have? Should I include it?

yes definitely use that .. a shared account shows trust and togetherness.. . Just write a covering letter which explains how you met, and then your travels.. A trail of matching passport stamps.. Some copies of credit card payments that fit the itinerary and the photos to support it.. Just pick a few at significant places. Sounds like you have plenty to create a good profile of you as a couple.

Yes, joint accounts, or money transfers to each others can be good evidences.

Just keep in mind that its your burden to prove the bona fide relationship, so

it's not too late to start collecting receipts and tickets...because it will come up again

during the K1 visa interview.
