IF I call tomorrow will they tell me why.

No, I'm so sorry. They'll just tell you to wait for the letter. It should only take a few days, though. And if you mail everything they ask for right away, it should only delay you by about a week to two weeks. :) I'm sure it's just that you didn't copy your full passport (if I remember what you said above correctly). If I were you, I'd go do that right away just to be safe & if that's it, you can mail it back to them the same day:) good luck!

I am the petitioner.

If you think about it, they should require even the empty pages. If they didn't, anyone could claim certain pages were empty even though they aren't so that they could hide visiting certain countries and when. I'll agree its a lot of pages. But they need to be able to see where you've been and when, without a doubt. Or there could be some other reason that is specifically tied to citizenship that I can't think of because I'm not in that line of work. Either way, I'm sure they wouldn't require it without a good reason.

I just got my RFE in the mail (sent 9/18 for a NOA1 4/17 application). It requests:

1) my birth certificate. (I included this already - it was an original freshly-issued)

2) my divorce decree from my previous marriage (I included this already - it was an original freshly-issued)

3) my fiance's divorce decree (we checked that his marriage status was "single" because he was NEVER married before)

So, frustrated, I called customer service to say that all these were in the original file and I HAVE PROOF. The level 1 agent just said "sometimes things get lost. Send them again fast or go see your local USCIS office and show them proof that you turned them in". I asked to speak to a level 2 agent and she said "if I transfer you it will drop your call because they are flooded and not accepting any additional calls today. Try them in the morning."

WTH, government?! I could scream. I'm delayed by weeks or more because they screwed up. This sucks.

I know how your feeling my fiancé got the RFE letter his was for birth certificate too which he sent original fresh issue as well, I have read its not unusal for things to get lost very poor on their behalf really. But on a good note at least its not something major and once sent it wont be long for an approval. Good luck :)

I didn't include an engagement ring receipt or many specifics about the wedding. However, the RFE said nothing about these or evidence of intent to marry - just wanted copies of docs is already sent (birth certificate, divorce decree). For his UK "divorce decree", I'm sending a cover letter staring that he was never married and his bio page again where we had checked "single". Sound legit?

Yeah, I would state in the letter that in your original submission, you checked single and that you've included a copy of what you provided (that shows he is single).

I would be really peeved if I were you. It's ####### like this that make Americans think our government can't do anything right.

I did not include an intent to marry. Did you? Maybe thats the reason why I got a RFE. *scratches head*
