I was sitting down the other day just reflecting on how fast this year has flown by for all of us April filers....it seems like yesterday all this hype and confusion, excitement about putting in our papers, then this black hole of no news, then rumors of transfers, then transfers, now we are either already done with the process or almost there...my time flys when you sit back and look at the whole picture... I am just amazed. It is true this entire process is a small caption of the big picture...

Hi guys, Help me with a question...

I haven't been on here a while because I've been depressed about this. We were approved Oct. 6 by USCIS. I have called NVC every day for a month and a half and they still don't have my file/approval notice. I have emailed it to their research dept twice...I have called and emailed USCIS multiple times. Last week a woman there told me she thinks several early October files were lost. I have even contacted my congressman, but the file has never shown up. So we don't have an N# from NVC. My fiance has everything ready to go - except the medical exam.

We haven't seen each other since August. He wants to come over here now - before the visa interview in London. Is this a good idea? He wants to come Dec. 28-Jan. 25 since it looks like it will take ages to get an N# and visa interview in London. What do you all think? Good idea or bad idea?

Hi everyone. Congrats on the approvals and good luck to anyone awaiting an interview.

I need your opinions about something. I recently lost my job and my fiance's interview is scheduled for December 18. I was hoping I would find something by now but no luck yet. I have some strong leads that might pan out to something this week(feeling hopeful). I going to have my brother be a joint sponsor. He meets all the requirements. I have read that there some disadvantages to using a joint sponsor for the k1 visa process. "Both the advantage and the disadvantage of the Form I-134 Affidavit of Support is that it is not considered to have much legal weight. In other words, although a U.S. government agency could take a sponsor to court to enforce it, they never seem to do so. Perhaps they realize they wouldn't win. That’s an advantage because makes it easier to persuade someone to sign the form, without endangering that person's financial future. It’s also a disadvantage: Because the consular officials know that the affidavit is hardly worth the paper it’s written on, they may disregard the joint sponsor. For this reason, if you go the joint sponsor route, you might want to supplement the person’s affidavit with a letter or a sworn statement expressing his or her deep commitment to supporting the visa applicant."

Based on what I read I am planning of sending an affidavit of support from both me and my brother and a notarized statement expressing his commitment to supporting my fiance. I will also send my income tax info and W2 from previous years. I will also send copies of my undergraduate and graduate diplomas to show that I am highly educated and that the unemployment is a temporary phase.

Has any of you experienced a similar situation? Please feel free to give me your ideas and opinions

Thanks everyone

Fabienne

Hi Everyone,

I have a question an hope someone can help me with it. My Finance had his interview today and he was given a temporary denial and stated that they would make a decision by January 15th. Have anyone heard of this at this stage of the process? All the questions they asked him he knew the answer so im really not sure what could be the problem. I'm so depressed right now, I was hoping he would be here by christmas.

Hi everyone. Has anyone who have interviewed already have this happened to them. My fiance's interview was scheduled for December 18. I am in the process of making sure I have all the paperwork needed. I just went on the US traveldocs website and it says that my appointment was canceled. Neither me or my fiance canceled it. I have email confirmation from them that it was scheduled. I don't know what's going on. My fiance is freaking out now. I called them but all they told me is that they have to escalate it to find out why it was canceled and they would email within 24-48 hrs. Has this happened to anyone?
