That is interesting. The travel.state . Gov needs some work on their website bc the ds160 is under the non-immigrant section and I thought that was the form that needed to be filled out and taken to interview whereas on the ceac website you are saying you were only able to access your case under the immigrant section which only allows you to fill out a DS 260 or 261 or something like that.. Maybe I'm just going crazy but I feel both websites are conflicting details lol.

Surely, I am NOT expert in this...

I talked to the NVC clerk...He gave me the case #

My Fiance' will be interviewed in Bangkok...

The first 3 initials of the new case number is BNK (for Bangkok).

I looked up the CEAC website on US State Department.

Did what I said in my reply above...

I understand the Fiance' will send and bring the D-160 form completed to the interview...

WHY the access to the case status is under IMMIGRANT and D-260 ??? I don't know.

Maybe others are knowing...

Good Luck...I need it too ...All new to me!

LOL

I know! Just want our fiance's to fill out the appropriate things lol! I just think it weird you can check your status on the ceac website under immigrant section when the DS160 is not even listed there it is listed under non- immigrant. I k ow it sounds crazy by a long shot but... I'd just make sure with NvC on Monday they have you plugged in under the right category? I know I sound crazy but, sounds odd to me you could be accessed under the immigrant section as opposed to the non-immigrant section . I'm not a lawyer in a nurse ? but sounds odd to me. I won't be able to get in until I get my case number . I just read up on travel.state.gov and compare it to ceac and to my knowledge the immigrant section with the 260/261 is for already married couples ...

I looked again at the US Embassy Bangkok list of requirements for the Fiance Visa ...

A Fiancé(e) Is Also an Immigrant...

(so under the CEAC website ...search under IMMIGRANT vs Non-Immigrant)....

Because a fiancé(e) visa permits the holder to immigrate to the U.S. and marry an American citizen shortly after arrival in the United States, the fiancé(e) must meet some of the requirements of an immigrant visa.

Applying for a Visa

K visa applicant (and eligible children applying for K-2 visa) will be required to bring the following forms and documents to the visa interview:

  • Completed Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. Principal applicant (and any eligible children applying for K-4 visas) must: (1) complete Form DS-160 and (2) print the DS-160 confirmation page to bring to your interview.
  • A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the U.S.
  • Birth Certificate
  • Divorce or death certificate(s) of any previous spouse(s) for both applicant and the U.S. citizen sponsor
  • Police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for six months or more since age 16 (Police certificates are also required for accompanying children age 16 or older)
  • Medical examination (vaccinations are optional, see below)
  • Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support, may be requested)
  • Two (2) 2x2 photographs. See the required photo format explained in Photograph Requirements
  • Evidence of relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e)
  • Payment of fees, as explained below
  • Register your address at the following website for delivery of your visa and print out your receipt and confirmation page: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/th

The consular officer may ask for additional information, such as photographs and other proof that the relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is genuine. Documents in foreign languages, other than Thai language, should be translated. Applicants should take to the visa interview clear, legible photocopies of civil documents and translations, such as birth and divorce certificates. Original documents and translations will be returned.

Good Luck....

The k-1 is weird. You fill out the ds-160, but on the ceac website you select immigrant visa. So on the one hand, it is an immigrant visa, but on the other hand it isn't?

I am assuming in the k1 visa process the fiance coming to the US fall under both immigrant and non immigrant. The fiance is still considered non immigrant for the 90 days after entry in US. Once married within the given 90 days they fall under the immigrant status when the petitioner apply for the adjustment of status. If it was just a tourist non immigrant visa, all the person would have to do is to fill the DS-160 and bring some form. The I-129f petition that had to be approved I guess is part of the "immigrant" process. At least that is how I understand it.

yeah he websites regarding applying for the VISA are a little confusing to me. Anyhow, onward march. Did anyone's status in USCIS change once their stuff was forwarded to NVC or, did NVC contact you confirming receipt of material by means of mail and or email?

Also, I am rooting for those upcoming approvals!! Keep the faith!!

CSC won't change the status after approval. And NVC will send you confirmation via mail.

Of course I say that from what I've read on here, not from personal experience yet.

A few days later I got a letter from the embassy in Frankfurt giving me instructions about the next steps.
