Mine got moved to a local office 10 minutes ago.

So my thinking is that they've basically chopped off the filers from April-May at TSC, and sent them to local offices to speed things along.

I don't think for one minute this is bad news, if anything it's probably good news as it shows progress is being made quite fast.

My worry is that they don't know what they're doing at the local offices because they don't ever process these petitions. I'm scared to death that now our fate is in the hands of some random Texan who could quite possibly decide to follow the guidelines to a T and deny our petition. I really am freaking out. I'm not sure why. I just have a bad feeling. Maybe because I hate not having any control & not knowing what's going on.

I just got the local-office notice too. I'm trying to think this is good news, but do these local-office staff know how to process 129fs? Will we be further delayed due to lack of training? Ugh.

TSC filer. NOA1 says receive date April 1, Notice date April 3rd. I received 2 texts today. One at 3pm that my case was being transferred, with no indication where. The second text I just received that said case was transferred to my local USCIS office:

Dear God I hope this means something good. Haven't seen each other since January 1st.

Hey guys, got the other message as well, - Transfered to local USCIS office -. Do ya'll think it means now "state" offices are taking care of the petitions? https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.detail&office=XAF&OfficeLocator.office_type=ASC&OfficeLocator.statecode=NC This is supposedly the local office of North Carolina.

I think it might be even faster 'cause now it will all be scattered all over the US and not just handled by one or 3 service centers, what do you think? Again, all my words are just assumptions....

I really dont think this's will be a bad thing the local office part.

They don't do I-129F so since they probably don't have any. Yours will be the first there that also means fast approval I would think.

Don't worry too much. As a June filer I hope I will follow all of you soon!

I really don't think anyone needs to worry about the new people treating your application any differently. Remember, they're still highly qualified, they have to be, they're dealing with extremely sensitive material - not to mention there's a new director in charge of USCIS, I can imagine rules and improvements are being sent out in a shockwave.

I'd imagine it does mean a local office, in my case the one in New Orleans. I can't work out what else it could mean, as Texas is right next to Louisiana and you can't get much closer than that.

edit: hehe looks like others beat me too it.

I just went to the USCIS website and searched their field office locations. There's one in Houston that serves my county. But if they don't typically do 129fs..what if they get it wrong??

I browsed visa journey for almost a year before joining officially. In the past I've seen many transfers with 130s and 129. Typically a transfer is a good thing. It means your petition will likely get approved within a month or the longest I've seen is two months. Now how they select who gets transferred is anyone's guess including mine. But if you just search transfer history and read people's timelines that they have at the bottom as their signature in older posts, a lot of them were approved pretty quickly . . .

I am kind of worried because I am wondering if in this local office they are used to do that and if it won't take them forever to approve our petition.... But at the same time, being sent to our local office means that petitionts are going to be sent in several offices all over the US and so there will be less petitions in one same place.... (Sorry if I am confusing)

So I don't really know how to feel! Even if I am actually glad that things are moving anyway. Because waiting without any news for months is really hard!

Is there other VJ members who got 2 different emails about their transfer too?

And the second email is just stating where it went too. Nothing to worry about. They are just letting you know where they send it too.
