Now... more waiting for NVC/Embassy. My understanding on the timeline that it's a week or two for CSC to send to NVC, then another week or two for them to send to the Embassy, then another week or two of waiting until the interview. Is that about right?

I received my NOA2 two weeks ago (plus a day), and NVC hasn't received it yet from CSC. From what I've read on VJ, it is 2-4 weeks from CSC to NVC, then yes 1-2 weeks to the embassy. The interview wait time has a wide range, totally depends on the embassy.

Just wanted to add that, to my knowledge, CSC generally takes longer to forward to NVC than TSC.

Packet 3 comes from the Consulate abroad. It basically just tells you what stuff to return to the Consulate in order to advance to the interview stage. My Fiancee received packet 3. It was 1 or 2 pages only. At least for Germany. Each country is a little different. I recommend you ask this question in your Portal.

24th sept we got the hardcopy and they want a letter of intent from both of us.......MUST WE GET THE LETTER OF INTENT NOTARIZED?

It does not need to be notarized. Also the one from the foreign fiancé needs only be a scanned copy. He/she can bring the original to he interview.

apero did you give them an intent to marry previously? i am wondering if mine was too vague from the beginning if that is the reason why we are getting a RFE. I am getting my fiance to do an intent to marry according to what is on visajourney. I too am doing one so if indeed that is the reason for the RFE, it will be more official looking as I admit it did look ghetto how we did it. It was hand written lol.

The one Matt & I each wrote was vague (nearly identical to what you said you wrote earlier) & worded identically. Both were hand written, do I doubt that's the reason got your rfe unless they lost it.

For those of you that received the hard copy of the RFE in the mail... was it sent first class post or registered mail?

I am trying to guess how long before I will get the hardcopy, yes I am a glutton for punishment, knowing anywhere from 1 day to 2 weeks, but still curious. it is so boring to wait in the dark.
