So I got an email and text today with the RFE that the officer on the phone told me about yesterday'. I'm mostly crushed because everything has come up against us from the beginning...distance, our families, finances, being sick, time zones, and now papers. It seems like the universe is working against us. So many approvals...but not us. After all this time struggling to be together, I'm ready to give up. It's been a year and a half of joy and hardship. I'm divorced and have three kids. I didn't expect to fall in love again - and certainly not with a man from England. The RFE broke my heart and has been the final straw. I'm going to have to quit checking here. I'll send the papers one more time and then I'm going to just let it all go. It's a shame that the system has done this to me. Ironically, I used to be a student advisor and process international J-1 and F-1 visas. I've spent fourteen years teaching ESL and working with international students. Funny how I'm the one that gets raked across the coals. It isn't fair. Bye guys. Good luck to you.

I'm a girl for starters lol And if you want to use Igor's list, go for it. I don't like using it & I was counting the people from this thread, not overall. Igor's list only works if people update their timelines. Which not everyone does. Congratulations JakeK

Sweetie a RFE is not the end of the world! I've seen on here a few times where people swear they sent everything in yet USCIS claims they didn't (misplacing documents) so they just have to send in duplicates. You can take care of it quickly & most receive their approval really quickly afterward. It doesn't have to break you. Just wait for the hard copy to see what it says. Don't freak out until you have a reason to.

An RFE is not a bad thing no need to give up and it does not mean you have to refile all your paperwork again I know because my fiancé and I have already been through this with our last petition. We refiled back in April and on the 15/09 we got notification to say an RFE letter has been mailed i'm not panicking it will be something minor as I know with the help of a few vj members we sent everything required with a bit extra. Its been almost a year since I spent time with him 45 days we were together and I miss him everyday I lost my father last November and wanted nothing more than to have my man by my side to comfort me i'm divorced with two teenagers and like you never thought I would fall in love again let alone to someone over in the USA. Keep your chin up stay positive you will both be together before you know it. Good luck
