Just got an alert that an RFE is in the mail for me. :ranting:

It's on the I-485 application case status so I hope it's just a silly document missing, although I tripled checked that thing..

Something tells me it could be an I-864A from my sponsor's ex-wife. I didn't send that because i didn't wanna send anything else they didn't ask for, but I saw here that sometimes they ask for stuff that is not request in any site/instructions. Like the birth certificates from the sponsors. But like I said I didn't wanna send anything they DIDN'T ask for.

I guess I'll have to wait for this letter... and being the weekend.. the wait is gonna be even longer :crying:

Would they tell me what it is if I called them?

I'm sorry to hear you have a RFE! And I know what you mean about the weekend as I am STILL waiting for my NOA's.

That's really weird to hear, people usually received all NOAs at the same time, did you even get any alert for anything else besides the I-130?

I didn't submit the form G-1145 so I don't get any alerts for the NOA's for my forms I did file. :(

Guys, my I-485 receipt in the uscis site still appears as "acceptance".

Wonderful, jbarrett!

Vitoralves, there is a step where you check your case status that says "testing and interview." It will show that step if your case has progressed. Or you might get the letter in the mail even before that since those updates, like you say, are not very reliable.

Naturalization:

12/13/18: File online application

12/15/18: Receive notification for biometrics appointment (no date)

12/31/18: Biometrics

02/25/19: Receive interview letter (April 8 )

04/08/19: Interview, approved!

04/12/19: Oath scheduled for April 26

04/26/19: Oath Ceremony! 🇺🇸

ROC:

04/26/17:  Sent ROC package

04/27/17:  Package received

05/20/17:  Biometrics letter received

06/02/17:  Biometrics

08/22/18:  Card being produced

AOS from F1 visa:

08/16/14: Sent AOS package: I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131

08/19/14: Package received at Chicago Lockbox

08/22/14: Acceptance confirmation text messages/emails

08/22/14: Checks cashed

08/26/14: Hard copies of NOA's received in mail

08/27/14: Biometrics appointment notice received. Scheduled for 9/8/14.

09/08/14: Biometrics

11/14/14: File service request (Day 88)

11/24/14: EAD/AP approved (Day 98)

12/01/14: EAD mailed

12/03/14: EAD received

03/12/15: Status changed to Testing & Interview

04/16/15: Interview, no decision

07/17/15: "Your card is in production" email!

08/07/15: Card mailed

08/10/15: Card received!

~11 months, 3 weeks & 4 days from filing to green card in hand, no RFE's~

I didn't understand what you said.

sorry i was on something else lol

First of all, you can sign up in the USCIS webpage and set the notification settings to send you emails and text msg whenever there is a change in your case.

For the interview, you have to first wait for the biometric appointment letter, and then they'll send you another lether with the interview appointment. I guess that's when hour status changes to testing and interview

I wish I had a job offer letter that I could fax USCIS, so I could ask for my EAD to be issued. I'm really having trouble money wise. And it is not like I can start applying for jobs, because the first thing they ask is "do you have legal authorization to work in the United States?"
