We had our interview this morning. No approval yet, we were told that we will be recommended (I assume for approval) to the supervisor and I will receive my card in 6 - 8 weeks or longer. Conditional residency was explained to us. No "personal" questions were asked, not even the standard "how did you meet?"!! We just had conversations about other things, and the standard yes/no questions were asked. As of right now I have not received any update if we have been approved or not. The interview was more informal than what we expected, and much less daunting. The feeling afterwards was anticlimactic in a sense, because I went in so excited and then after not really getting an approval or at least a confirmation that we will get approved, it feels like we are just in this waiting game again. But, I am grateful that we are at least done with the interview (and would hopefully not be contacted to submit more documents--she said they will email me if they need more documents!)

I just noticed your timeline, why did it take almost 4 months for your card to go in production after the interview?! That is so scary to know that can happen! However, CONGRATS on finally getting that update!!

It was half my fault and half theirs;

We had our I-130 package ready, but we were waiting on some tax documents for the I-485. So instead of filling concurrently, we sent out the I-130 first and the I-485 about a month later, thinking it would get this started.

In theory it would work, but when we showed up for our interview turns out they had misplaced our I-130 and we had to fill a new one right there.

The IO said that we got approved, but he would have to wait on the original I-130 to be sent to him. He said it would take 1 months maximum, but I guess it took me then that.

Moral of the story; always file concurrently.

Okay, I was wondering if that was part of why it took them so long to finally start producing your card. I'm happy for you that it eventually, and finally, worked out!

I'm not sure I'm following, could you explain why you say that? I don't see anything unusual with Mrs. Hopkins case, is there a reason why you referred to this person specifically (not sure if I missed something). The only difference I can see is that they got approved on the spot (so does many others), and I'm not really sure if my husband and I got approved or not. I appreciate your input, but could you elaborate?

Really !! After reading Mrs Hopkins compared to yours . . . you see nothing different other than approval info?

Okay, I see where you are coming from. I had a different thought process and was thinking more in the lines of how our cases cannot really be compared if there is no information available to anyone about either of our situations (other than them living together for a year). Yes, different kind of interviews, but no two interviews are the same, so nothing special about either of our interviews. Maybe if our cases were exactly the same and we were at the same field office, a comparison of how different the interviews were would have been interesting. Anyways, all I wanted to do was to share my experience with other August filers like we have all been sharing our experiences since we joined this thread and went through this together, and you know, maybe get some support.

Got my Welcome to America letter today, with my Alien/GC number on it actually. And also an updated on my card saying it was shipped and I got the tracking number, they send it on 2-day rush service BTW.

USPS tracking says it should get here on Wed, but by what I saw on other people's timelines, people seem to get the card 1 day after the welcome letter. I'll keep you all updated.
