I just received my combo EAD/AP card too. No interview info given though :( Does that mean I will be interviewed? Also, I read here on VJ that some people had to wait a couple of weeks for their names to appear on the CBP system for them to get a social security number. Did you have any issues applying for one?

I'm curious about this as well. Got my EAD card today and am looking to apply for a ssn# on Monday. I read that you need to bring at least 2 documents providing proof of immigration status. I only have the EAD card as I've yet to get scheduled an interview for a green card yet. Is this enough? What documents did you all bring to apply for a ssn#?

You do not need to wait, just bring your passport, birth certificate, and EAD. The day after I got my TN visa I applied for my social and got it within two weeks.

That's a relief to hear, thanks! I'll go in on Monday and hope for the best. I spent 30 mins trying to get someone from the local social services office on the phone to no avail. I don't know if they'll take my birth certificate though since its not in English. I'll take our marriage certificate as back up.

Question about the EAD guys!

On the USCIS website, it says; "On November 19, 2014, we approved your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization , Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxx. We will mail your approval notice. Please follow the instructions in the notice......."

So is the EAD that is on the way or just a NOA with instructions on how to obtain the EAD?

Gregorypeck: I received the letter saying it was approved one day, and then the EAD the next day.

And guys...

my interview is right around the corner, and I'm confused on what to bring as proof of bona fide relationship

With my original packet I sent the following evidence:

- marriage certificate

- 2 sworn affidavits by friends/family

- pictures

- 3 months worth of joint account statements (not it is up to 8 months)

- public service bill with both our names

- copy of dental, health and prescription insurance with both our names

- car insurance with both our names

- Renter's insurance with both our names

- power of attorney

- Rental Agreement with both our names

So my question is: Should I take all the originals to the interview? And what about the affidavits that the originals were already sent?

12/05/2013 - Arrived on J1 Status

03/28/2014 - Married <3

08/08/2014 - Sent i-130, i-485, i-131, i-765 to Chicago Lockbox (day 00)

08/11/2014 - USCIS received package. (day 03)

08/18/2014 - NOA Hard Copy for i-485, i-130, I-131 and i-765 (day 10)

08/22/2014 - Biometrics Appoiment Notice for 09/03/2014 (day 14)

09/03/2014 - Biometrics done (day 26)

11/06/2014 - i-485 changed to Testing and Interview (day 85)

11/10/2014 - EAD Approved (day 89)

11/10/2014 - Interview scheduled to 12/11/2014

11/18/2014 - EAD in hands

12/11/2014 - Interview - Basically approved on the spot. Received text messages saying card/document production 30 minutes later

You should take everything you included in the packet, the more evidence the better. The whole point is to prove bona fide marraige. Relax and dont be stressed. Make sure to organize everything in a binder.

You are going to receive an approval letter and ead separately in the mail.

A question for those who have been approved and gotten their green cards already since the new website update.. How do you know when your actual card is mailed ? It doesn't say "card prodcution" like the last one, it just says my welcome notice was mailed. Does the card come with the welcome notice or is that coming first and then the card follows?
