Hello,

How does one receive the texts that I keep reading about? For example when their checks get cashed or when their form is approved? Thanks.

Did you fill out the 1144 form? You can also check status online once you receive your case number I think. That's what I have gathered from VJ so far but I did send form 1145. I sent mine 8/26. Good luck!

Also you can check with your bank to see if the check cleared.

I just noticed I wrote 1144 but I meant G 1145. You are right, we just have to wait..

10/19/2020 - Case "received and accepted" according to the online tracker.

10/21/2020 - Text/letter receipt received.

08/11/2021 - Interview scheduled: Sept 14th.

09/14/2021 - Interview + Oath at the Montgomery Office.

 

I-130 (for my spouse)

09/29/2021 - Received receipt letter for I-130.

09/30/2021 - Filed I-129F through the mail.

Can you get a drivers license with the A number?

No. You will need your EAD card or green card, whichever comes first, to get the driver's license.

Not with the number alone. You need to provide documentation to the DMV to show your legal status, and at this point I'm sure your A# is not printed on any official document as required by them. What visa are you adjusting from?

I'm not sure if it is the same in all states, but where I am a visitor's visa does not qualify you to get a driver's license anyways. Like angelboo said, you would need your EAD.
