Yeah Pickle, it is easy for people to say "just be patient" when they already have an interview date and filed the application later than you.

We are in the same boat and this sucks.

Btw, I created the service request because my EAD was pending more than 75 days, a week ago, and I still didn't get any kind of response. Do you know how long should I wait before hearing something?

Probably "30 days"--seems like that is the magic number But I really don't know, did they say anything when you put in the request? I am scared to create the request, what if they were a day away from approving it and by me creating this request it actually slows down the process? Or maybe I'm just being paranoid. I do want to call them on Wednesday, that will be day 76 for me since NOA1.

Have you looked at the August filer thread in the family based visa subforum? Seems like there are many more over there that is in the same situation we are in.

Yes, I am aware of that and I did not mean to sound like I'm whining about it. I'm also not expecting to hear anything about my AOS until next year March (at the earliest), but it is frustrating when there is no movement on something as simple as an EAD. That is not processed at the local office so the fact that my local office is backed up should have no bearing on the EAD processing time. I dunno, just making me stressed out and annoyed--those in the same boat will understand what I mean.

I get it, trust me I do. Though I do not make constant mention of it this is not my first time dealing with uscis so I understand. I'm simply saying there's just no logic or reasoning in comparing your case to another, if anything that makes it even worse. Never said you should not be frustrated nor did I tell you to be patient. Well, I just called the service center. The lady I spoke to was actually very nice. Firm, but nice. Even though I was not able to really get any information other than what I already knew. I was hoping to speak to a tier 2, since it has been over 75 days. Did not happen, because she said the 75 day thing is only related to Deferred Action and not to cases like mine. I can call again after the 3 month mark. And that was it. Case closed and looks like I will be waiting my full 90 days before I can call again.

That's great news! At least now you know they are looking at your case and it did not get stuck somewhere at the bottom of a dusty pile!

I'd just like to share that I had also not heard from USCIS about my EAD so I gave them a call Monday Nov. 3rd (77th day) and the next day my status change from initial review to card/document production. It's moving slowly but it's moving.. good luck to everyone and I hope we get everything done and over with soon!

I'd just like to share that I had also not heard from USCIS about my EAD so I gave them a call Monday Nov. 3rd (77th day) and the next day my status change from initial review to card/document production. It's moving slowly but it's moving.. good luck to everyone and I hope we get everything done and over with soon!

Welcome to this forum and thread, jbmayala! What did they say when you called? As you can see from my experience above, they said I can call back when my case reaches 3 months. Keep us updated with your case!

Thank you pickle. The lady was extremely nice and asked me if I'd like to do a service request or I could wait until the 91st day to call and I'd automatically get a new card good for 244 days. I chose to wait just in case my card was almost here in fear of slowing the process down and thank God I waited. I'm just patiently waiting for my interview date so I'll keep you guys posted. Hope you get good news soon! It's nice to know we're not alone in this very long process.

So you didn't put the service request after you called?

I called them on my 76th day too, but I ended up putting the service request... that was like 10 days ago and still no updates.... maybe I will have to call them again on the 90th day..... I didn't know about this card valid for 244 days, can you tell me more about that, if you can??? thanks

I had a similar thought about the service request: what if a service request actually slows you down because they were about to work on your file and then somehow the service request makes it "stall" for that moment. The lady I spoke to did not even give me a choice, just said I can call back.

Yes, it is nice to know there are more in this waiting game
