EAD is valid for a year

Thanks for clarifying, lala. My EAD I currently have is valid for a year (OPT for one year), but I thought EAD "based" on AOS might be different. Well hopefully those of us at backlogged offices don't wait that long :)

The EAD is valid for one year. I hope it doesnt take that long. Its almost Nov 2014 and they are now working on Nov 2013 apps. Im starting to worry.

Yea I hope not! I don't think that date gives us a good idea of where they really are with applications, but you are right, it is worrisome...

Ok so I just came back from the interview. There were two people besides me and my wife. The interviewer and the judge, a little too serious for me lol

They gave me a 120day waiting period and me case status just changed to initial review

I guess everything is aright :/

09/21/2016 NOA1

10/18/2016 Biometrics

Happy for you that you are done with that. Wow I can't believe how fast your case went. Just a little bit more waiting, I'm sure it won't take 120 days. Let us know when you get your approval!

Hello, I'm new here and I'm glad I found this! I hope you guys could help me please because I don't know what to do! Heres our progress:

AOS

8/1/14- Married

8/18/14- Sent AOS Package (I-130,I-485,I-765)

8/19/14- Chicago lockbox recieved package

8/21/14- I-485 transfered to Nebraska

8/25/14: Checks cashed

8/29/14- NOA1 hard copies received in mail

9/6/14- Biometrics letter recieved

9/18/14- Biometrics completed

10/29/14 STILL WAITING ON SOME TYPE OF RESPONCE

Till today we have got nothing! I keep going to the USCIS website to track our progress and I-130 & I-765 are STILL in Initial Review, and the I-485 is STILL in Acceptance! Also it says for all 3 last updated was 08/25/2014!! 2 months has gone by and still we got nothing. I am so worried. I have called USCIS and all they told me is what i know and they said to call back after 5 months! I'm worried that something is wrong. At least with my package I hope nothing is wrong because my lawyer was the one who helped me do it. I'm a US citizen and my husband is portuguese. He came to the US with the visa waiver program and did not overstayed. We decided to get married on our 5 year anniversary about 1 week before our anniversary! He had been here for 2 months and a half when we got married. We sent in everything on time and everything was filed correctly. I even sent out proof of our relationship. I just don't understand why we still haven't had any news yet. :( please please PLEASE someone give me advise on what to do! Thanks! :)

I understand your concern. My biometrics was September 8, case last updated August 21. However, unfortunately even though we feel we have waited long, it has not been long enough to get concerned. What processing time does your local office show? I am going to call the recommended 75 days after my NOA regarding my EAD (did you file for EAD?)

So unfortunately there really is not any advice anyone can give you but to wait, especially if your local office is backed up. Good luck to you!

You need to ask your question in the Removing Conditions forum: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/86-removing-conditions-on-residency-general-discussion/ All of us on this subforum are in the process of AOS, so would not be able to really give sound advice on removal of conditions.

I am almost in the same situation as you are but my application wasn't transfered. Don't paninc, it will come through in the next few days. If not, call them or get your congressman involved.

I would say contact them again after 75 days from your NOA date. The chances that you will speak to the same person you spoke to last time that told you to wait 5 months are very, very slim. The next person you speak to might want to help. Maybe not so much with your AOS application, but they might at least be able to do something about your EAD/AP (I assume you applied for those?). So try again and let us know!

I'm a bit confused on where I can see the processing times.. I sent all app to Chicago.. I-485 transfered to Nebraska. I checked Nebraska processing times for I-485 and it doesn't show family based. Where can I find family based? Then I check National Benefits Center (MSC cuz thats what my recite starts with) & that one only shows I-765. Where can I find processing times for I-485 & I-130 for family based applications? Thanks :)
