Update! This has been a great week but confusing as well. On Monday I got text messages and email stating that my EAD was in production as of 10/6, this morning I got 3 more text messages stating my EAD card was sent to production 10/7, this evening I got an update on my I485, stating that it was ready for interview. I am happy but also confused about the 2 separate texts for EAD. I hope everyone gets good news soon. This was fast!

Congrats!

I think what matters is that it is in production, don't worry about the many updates. I wish I was so lucky! :) Great news about the I-485!

still no updates after my biometrics.... 60 days since date of filing approaching next week

I feel your pain. September filers are catching up with us!

With your EAD you need to now apply for your social security number, once you have your social security number you are able to work. Your social security will state on it Valid with DHS authorization only (which is your EAD). Once you receive your green card you cant get that statement removed from your social security card.hope this helps.

Thank you i'm going today to the Social Security Office with all the documents they asked, hope don't take long.

Why is that some are getting their EADs and others don't?

Thank you Pickle, I am not even sure how it is possible that others from my location have not had any response yet. Crossing fingers for everyone

That is a wonderful question. USCIS will tell you that it depends on each individual case. I just don't see how mine are so much more complicated than other cases that it is taking so much longer. So I guess it is a combination of different factors: individual case, local office, and luck (where your case ends up in the pile).

Thank you i'm going today to the Social Security Office with all the documents they asked, hope don't take long.

I had to go twice to my local SSA office when I got my SSN (they returned my first card because I wasn't listed with USPS yet at the address where I was living). Both times were such a long wait. Hope it goes fast for you!

Hi guys, I hope everyone is doing good and getting updates in their statuses. I received an email this morning stating that my card was mailed so I should be getting it soon. I am amazed at how fast everything has progressed, I have no idea why but I do have to say that we have been married for over a year, don't know if that made a difference.

So I have two questions for everyone.

1. Whose cases on here are at the Nebraska Service Center? Everyone's cases will start out at the National Benefits Center (NBC), but after that, where does your online status say is your case being processed? Seems like Nebraska is the popular one these days!

2. Is there anyone on here who are not adjusting based on marriage (for example H1B work visa adjusting through employer)?

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

That is the code for the National Benefit Center (transitioned from Missouri Service Center, hence the MSC), which mine is also. But my case status online said my case was transferred to NSC to be processed. What does yours say online?

Oh, you know what, once your case updates online (where you enter your case number) it is not going to show anymore where your case was sent to. Mine is showing that I changed my address, so I don't see the notice anymore of where they sent my case to. However, you will find what service center it is at on your NOA for your I-485 (I believe--I don't have my letter with me right now).

Ok, I think mine is at Missouri. Also I read on one of the threads that changing address may delay your response for about a week or two, maybe that's why you have not gotten a response yet.

Thanks, Starkilla! Only with your post alone we can already see that we cannot really make any generalizations with service centers. The reason that I am interested to know is just because of another filer thread I was reading and it just got me thinking about the disparities between cases at the same service centers. Your post just supports that point!

And the reason I am interested to know if anyone here is adjusting through an employer is because I've heard (I don't know for sure) that it goes faster. It will be nice to know if there is someone on here like that so we don't get too jealous if their case is being processed fast ^_^
