Hi everyone :)

I am an August 2014 filer too! Joining the club a bit late though. :content: There is another August AOS 2014 group floating about on VJ and I am a part of that.

So, below is my timeline if you want to know where my case stands right now.

I do have one concern: my local office is unfortunately Dallas, TX and they are so backed up right now that they are processing I485 for October,2013 currently!

My USC husband is a military member and currently deployed overseas. I can join him provided I have my green card. I am so anxious right now and would be so mad if it takes a year for me to get my green card.

Hopefully things change with Dallas soon.

Any Dallas AOS filers on here other than me?

Wishing everyone the best on their process!

Hi Ladyliberty, and welcome! Yes, the other AOS thread is for people adjusting from family based visas. All of us here are adjusting from either a work, student, or tourist visa. What are you adjusting from?

I'm not in Dallas, but my local office is also backlogged, all the way to September 2013! So I feel your pain, I guess we will wait for a while. I'm glad someone joined me in a longer wait :)

Hi Pickle,

Thank you for the welcome :)

I don't know if I fall under adjusting from family based or from work/student visa. Mine is a unique story.

So, I came as an F1 student. So did my husband. We got married in 2013. I changed to F2 because my OPT expired. My husband was still an F1 and he enlisted into the US Army through a special program called MAVNI so he went from F1 to US Citizen in 2 months!

Now, I am filing for an AOS from F2 to Permanent resident. Hope my story makes sense ;)

Where is your local office? Gosh, these dates sound so crazy! Good luck to you, me and everyone at these backlogged offices!

Hi angelboo31!

Sorry to hear it hasn't changed yet...hope it does soon! On the bright side, I think El Paso, TX is clearing the cases in 4 months time (according to USCIS field office processing dates) so that is good news for you that it probably won't be very long for your Interview/GC!

WIshing you the best.

Hey, how do you find out how busy is your local office?

Also on the bright side, once your Green Card is approved and you get to go to your husband, did you know you can get Expedited Citizenship for the fact that is Active Duty Military and you would be living with him overseas?

And please give your husband my appreciation for serving the country that took him as one of their own. I think serving in the military is a great way to pay back for everything the country has done for us immigrants. The second I become a citizen I'm joining the Air Force. :)

That is strange. I wonder if they might be using the Boston processing times for the smaller office you are at. If you want to find out for sure, maybe start a thread about it to hear similar experiences, or call the customer service center.

That is the funny thing. I don't really see anyone from OKC here on VJ, and the last timeline is from 2013. That's why I assumed that they are probably not that busy. It still gives me a good idea (all of those older timelines are showing 6 - 8 months processing times), but I would have liked to see newer timelines from 2014.

I hope you get some responses on the thread you started! It's always nice to know that others are in the same boat than you.

I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but I still have not received my other NOA's for the I-485 nor I-765. I am getting concerned now. Keep in mind I didn't submit form G1145 to get alerts. How long do I have to wait to call them and where do I call?

So have you gotten any of those NOA's yet? It's now been a month since you filed, so I would say it should be safe to call them if there is nothing in the mail today. You can call the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283.
