Any time a positive gun owner vs thug story is posted, the same thing is done. Some can never acknowledge that there are many cases where guns do prevent crime. Just like those that can't acknowledge Obama's good points or bad points.

So you made a false claim when you said that I agreed with the dispatcher in this situation. I clearly did not say any such thing and you know it. I didn't deflect either. I merely pointed out that guns in the house cause more harm than they do good. That's well established and one ought to be allowed to point that out without having statements ascribed that one clearly has not made.

I disagree. It's no secret that MBD does not like guns, but I have never seen him say that people do not have the right to defend themselves in their own home with a gun.

I guess I don't see it that way over here in the muddy left ditch. Its easy to point out supporting and contrasting stories to any national issue. But the individual cases can't be considered when discussing a major issue like this. The solution will need to address large averages and statistics. You don't get rid of legislation that helps millions because it negatively affected someone's grandma.

You posted the other story because you just couldn't post that you agreed with the elderly woman. You can provide no statistics to show crimes prevented vs gun used against homeowner. Another deflection.

You've never seen me say that because I have never said it. Yes, I question the wisdom of keeping a firearm in the house and surely don't see a need for it but I don't think I have ever said that whether another person keeps a gun in their home is somehow my business. I do like to point out that way too much damage is done by these firearms that people keep in their homes. "Accidental" shootings are so common that they don't even command media attention anymore. This recent story I posted did get attention because the woman killed was pregnant and her unborn died as well as a result of this "accidental" shooting. Not sure why there is anything wrong with raising awareness of the very real dangers of keeping a gun in the home.
