Hello everyone. I am a U.S. Citizen and about to start petition process for my parents. I have everything ready, just have 1 simple question before I go to post office and send it out. Can I put both applications in one envelope and send it out together or do I have to send them separately? I already have 2 separate $420 moneyorders, so I'm pretty much familiar with document stuff, just need to answer this one. Also, I know I can look this information up, but since I'm here I'll ask it as well. Which address should I use for express mail?

Thanks a bunch.

I sent mine for both my wife and daughter in the same envelope, but I made sure to write a cover letter for each application explaining what is submitted for each and a global cover letter for both stating that I am sending two separate applications.

Example global cover letter:

"Your Address"

"Date"

Yes, you can send both together. It's better that way so they can be approved at the same time and sent to the NVC at the same time. They will be able to interview together and you will only have to pay the AOS fee once.

Just make sure since they are two separate cases, that you submit two separate of the required photocopies of docs (ie birth cert, translation, etc) one for each.

This does not constitute legal advice.

Thanks a lot guys. Now here's my biggest confusion. In I-130 there's a question in part C , question 22. If my relatives are in U.S. and if they are going to apply for adjustment of status. NO they are not in U.S. but below that same question indicated that, if they're not in U.S. then fill out in which consulate are they going to apply for a visa. I'm trying to find the answer and going crazy, because it seems so freaking confusions. I'm surfing all over the internet and people are giving up mixed up answers. Do I have to list the consulate name or just ignore it? Thank you guys..

Yes, it is confunsing, but here is what I put on mine for question 22 in part C. This only applies if your relative is in the US and they are going to apply for adjustment of status. So I put N/A over where it says:

Actually no....

If his parents are not in the US he should just place a N/A and leave the rest blank as it only pertains to relatives who live in the US and are adjusting status. The second part actually says this "If your relative is not elegible for adjustment of status, he or she ......" this still refers to the first part if they live in the US, but they are not elegible for adjustment of status.....

So you should write N/A and leave the rest blank.

He could write N/A for the first part about AOS. However, the next part refers to where they would apply for the visa.

Every I-130 I have filled out including for my own spouse, I have always put the embassy of the US in Santo Domingo, in my case. It's simply to put where the visa will be applied for and the instructions don't specify.

It doesn't matter really.

This does not constitute legal advice.
