I feel your pain. The waiting will be done for us soon. & then others will start their waiting game. thus is the cycle on VJ. Most aren't here longer than they need to be. But I like this site.

I know how you feel. Just after the don't-adjudicate-any-I-130s-or-else phase USCIS went through last year, we started getting transferred out of the National Benefits Center to random service centers. People who went to CSC got approvals very quickly, and the rest of us who went to TSC and NSC had to wait longer. I felt happy for the CSCers, but exasperated that there was such disparity between the service centers for processing the petition. The whole system from beginning to end needs a huge overhaul.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I don't want to be mean. When TSC was faster compared to CSC way back in August 2013, I saw many people got approved faster than me even though my then-fiance (my now husband) filed earlier. I did not jealous nor wishing something not nice. I never compared their timelines with mine either. I was happy because everyone has their own luck regarding their immigration journey. And I got approved in 38 days without RFE. If you want a good outcome make sure you have good things inside your mind and soul. It would help you a lot during the stressful immigration process.

Rather than kept comparing your timeline with someone else's here why you are not trying to learn next steps your immigration process? Spend your time with family and friends, go out and do something positive. I saw many users here got panic attack when they finally got approval of their I-129F. They did not know what they had to do for next steps. I'd learned this process 2 years before my husband filed I-129F for me. I know it is not an easy way to be in long distance relationship but if you don't have a true patience this immigration journey is not for faint-hearted person.

We just ended up on the wrong side of the cycle. You know what is going to happen after we finally get approved right? TSC will start turning around approvals 30 - 60 days and there will no longer be any PI expedites....lol. Just our luck. But on the bright side..we will have been approved................................maybe.

To the OP.

You are not alone....I try to avoid the CSC threads altogether and not worry about them. It isn't their fault they were extremely lucky by getting fast approvals in advance of DACA renewals. They will see a dramatic slowdown in the coming months and then they will be the ones complaining. They already are complaining about 60 day approvals  . Bottom line...no one should have to wait more than 90 days for this process but it happens for whatever reaons and it is best not to stress over things we have no control over.

I just hit 5 months 3 days ago so we are almost there.....hang in there a little longer. :)

You got approved in 38 days, try waiting for 6, 7, 8,9 months and come back with your statement. Please don't needlessly criticize people!

Also I am not hating on whoever got a fast approval, I just don't care to see them (I am human).

*just my 2 cents*

I would be totally happy with the part in your post I bolded. At least it would be short for others. I applaud TSC's efforts if they make that happen, & it won't make me feel worse than I already do about stuff.

Girl from Celebes is right. I wouldn't bash her for her statement. We do need to be focused on what's next rather than looking enviously at quick CSC approvals & complaining.

Nah. I plan on getting through in a week or two. :)

I don't see any criticism in her post. In fact, her post is simply a friendly reminder that NOA2 or the I-129f approval is not the end-all of the immigration journey. There's the medical, embassy phase then AOS, etc etc. Plus packing up your whole life from your family and home country.

You should see the countless post here about "what's next?" after months of ranting on how slow uscis is.

I have watched many types of visa get approved while I have been in my fifteen month wait and still counting... I am married, not waiting to get married, and have been waiting to start a life with my husband.... what I learned is to stop comparing my case to other's. Yes different visa's have different processing times, and some people do get luck of the draw on where their petition is sent. I just think positive towards others and remind myself this could be worse. Not too long ago I seen folks posting on how unfair it is for married people to wait while K1 visa were being processed faster.... we all get our turn and are relieved when we get our approvals... so I know things are so frustrating and it makes you want to pull out your hair, but keep faith and spread good will around to our fellow petitioners. We all need some positive encouragement.

Really well said. Your words have given me much needed encouragement today :)

My husband and I had been in relationship for over 5 years before he filed I-129F for me. Waiting for 6,7,9 months is nothing compared how long we had the courtship before finally we got approval.

In my opinion, spending too much time in the progress report forums can be very demoralising. As helpful as it might be to try to use other members' experiences to estimate your own timeline, underlying this is a competitive atmosphere because of the comparative nature of the set up. This is compounded by threads from people celebrating their quick approval and asking if anyone has been approved faster than them - how is that helpful other than to feed self-satisfaction and generate ill-feeling from people who have been waiting for many months and have heard nothing?

If I were to advise a newbie about the usefulness of various parts of the forum, I would suggest that they stick to the guides, the regional forum that's specific to them and the forums that deal with Q&A factual information. In my opinion, they should avoid the progress forums. These forums should be a place for communal spirit and mutual support, but there's too much discrepancy between the service centers for everyone to be happy for everyone else's case moving forward while their case sits in limbo.

One more thing, I've learned being patience from fellow's VJ that their beneficiaries from Pakistan. The US embassy in Islamabad is one of toughest US embassies I have ever read on VJ. Imagine yourself under Administrative Processing (AP) for years. One guy on VJ finally got approval for K-1 visa after underwent AP for over 5 years. It was not counted from the time they filed I-129F. It was an AP alone. Consider yourself ( and myself) lucky do not have to deal with the toughest US embassies.
