12/5 NOA2 12/6 but Approved on 12/5 touch

12/9 Received NOA2(I-797) by snail mail

12/15 NVC has received it..Case # issued...

12/19 NVC shipped to Romania

12/22 Romanian Embassy has received an email from NVC that my Petition is on it's way...

12/29 Packet 3 sent to Veronica

1/12 2007 Packet 3 received Dang Holidays..

1/22 Sending all paperwork(I-134,Bank/Employer letters etc..,)..to Veronica per DHL, 3.5lbs...$144 WOW!

1/25 Recieved notice that She needs to pick up my packet in Chisinau..

1/26 Sending Back Packet 3

2/16 Transit Visa to go to Romania for the Interview approved..

2/20 Leaves for Bucharest overnight drive by bus...

Depends what you want in life...... some brits go for Spain, some Greece, I have heard that some of the Baltic states are quite nice, but me personally well I plan on spending retirement with my Husband no matter where we are.

I am not planning on it yet . . . but Egypt can be very cheap, particularly when you are married to an Egyptian so you don't get cheated by everyone trying to sell you apartments, land, whatever. I know lots of British ex-pats living in Luxor, but I don't think that would be the place to live. Cairo is great but too crowded, noisy and polluted. Maybe Alexandria on the Mediterranean would be better.

The biggest thing I worry about during retirment??? Medical/health care .. . . going to somewhere with good healthcare is important as you. age yuck, don't like to think of that one, but there ya go!!!

I like Rio for vacation. I wouldn't like to live there. I don't know, it's just sometthing that we haven't experienced, but Rio is a very dangerous city, lots of crime. I wouldn't want us to risk living in a place like that.

Yea I was looking at...Costa Rica for fun..I'm like 15 years from retirement.. but I was looking and saw that housing was alittle more then I figured I'd have available when I did retire.. the idea is to pay cash for a house or flat..so the overhead is minimal..

I thought about her Country...but SSN won't send the Checks to me there unless it changes in 15 years.. .. But hey everything will change in 15 years.. :)

Maybe Cancun Mexico ?? I have an old Boss/friend that sold the business and his house and retired there... He loved the place..use to vacation there several times a year...

So far we have some nice idea's...

Live in Salvador Brasil, much safer (relatively) and you can save your dinero for cachasa instead of an army. ;)

(of course the heat might kill you if your not used to it)

You are in Kansas???? No wonder! Of course, winter is killing everyone this year, hehe!! Maybe south Texas would be better for you . . . but, by all means, PR when you retire. In fact, I was thinking of going down there to visit to check it out!

Well, we all are probably a little biased as to which country. Just the fact that our SO is from there makes it easier.

For myself it will almost for sure be the Philippines. I wouldn't even need Soc Sec.!! Just my retirement and TSP and I could spend most of the year there and live like Trump! :dance:

The Philippines is great as far as cost of living. The people are the friendliest anywhere!! They speak english. The weather is great! Health care is good and inexpensive.

I gotta get out of this Winter #######!!

I've heard a lot of good things about Costa Rica also, never been there though. I think real estate prices have gone up a lot there lately becoz of the demand though.

Gonna try again.
