I'm pretty sure they will require the fingerprint check - my wife ran into problems with her police report in the U.S. when the Houston Police Dept. rejected her fingerprints for her AOS application. I had to take her there myself.

Will they need police certificate of all the places i lived an can i request for it even thou am in living in toronto .thanks

Yes, you will need a police certificate for every country you have lived in outside of the U.S. for over 6 months. Yes, you can get police certificates for countries you have lived in even though you live in Canada.

Thank you do you know how long it normally takes to receive .

It depends on what country you are getting the police certificate from. What countries did you live in for more than 6 months?

I only lived in bahamas wich am orignal from an i was also in the states. Will i need one also for toronto.

You will need one for Bahamas and one for Canada. I don't know how long these will take. You are best off asking someone in the regional forums for those countries.

Canada regional forum: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/93-canada/

Have you received your NOA2? You don't need to fill in dS160 until you are instructed to do so, because you will need the case number from the NVC (which is appointed after your NOA2) Could you please fill in your timeline? That way we can all read it to tell you what happens next. thanks

Hello what all will i need in order to do my police certificate. Thanks

Generally, you will need some form of formal picture identification (like a passport) and processing fee.

And in many situations, you will have to appear in person or grant power of attorney to someone who can.

There is no exact standard procedure in acquiring the police certificate as they can vary by country,

so you will have to do some research from places that will grant you a police certificate for

respective countries.

When my (Chinese) fiancee went to request Russian police certificate,

they wanted to see her in person with the passport, processing fee,

and some form of document that she actually resided in Russia.

Also, for any countries where English is not the official language,

they might also give you the option to obtain the police certificate in English

which they did for my fiancee's Russian police certificate.
