Hi Everyone,

Today, I received a text/email notification from them this afternoon stating that my case is now ready for interview scheduling (testing and interview).

The email they sent me stated...

"Your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS is now ready for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address."

Does that mean that I should be receiving a notice with a date and time for my interview WITHIN the next 30 days? Someone please clarify!

2/28/2017 (Day 254) - Spouse received call from immigration officer verifying if we still lived together at our current address. He ended the conversation by saying we our approved and no need for interview

3/3/2017 (Day 257) - Received approval letter in the mail! 

3/13/2017 (Day 267) - Online status updated - new card being produced

3/16/2017 (Day 270) - Online status updated - new card was mailed to me

3/20/2017 (Day 274) - 10 year green card on hand!!

6/16/2017 - N-400 fee cashed

6/19/2017 - NOA date - Priority date 6/15/17

6/30/2017 - Received biometrics appointment letter in the mail for 7/12/17

7/5/2017 - Walked in Tustin ASC for biometrics 

8/10/2017 - Case is in line for interview

1/22/2018 - N-400 interview date scheduled 

1/26/2018 - Received N-400 interview letter in the mail! Interview scheduled on Feb. 28 

2/28/2018 - Naturalization interview - recommended for approval! :)

3/20/2018 - Oath taking ceremony :dance:

No, it means that at some point probably within the next 60 days they will mail out another letter giving the time and date of your interview (your online case status should change to reflect this), and if you have not received that appointment letter within 30 days of them mailing it to you then you should contact them (because it's probably gotten lost somewhere).

I received my interview date within 4 days of getting the first testing and interview update! Wow! :dancing:

My wife entered that stage in February 2014 and now we are in August 2014, still without the interview being scheduled.

What that awkwardly-worded update is telling you is that once they actually schedule an interview, they will update to the next stage and let you know they've mailed out a letter with the interview location, date, and time. If you haven't received any mail thirty days after receiving that notification, then you should contact them. But at this point you have to keep waiting to hear that they've mailed a letter before you can start counting the thirty day period to contact them.
