How to Pay K1 Visa Fee in Ghana

I'm a little confused and need some help. I'm trying to schedule an interview at the U.S. Embassy in Accra, Ghana. The instructions say to go to an Ecobank and pay the fee, but my fiancé went to two Ecobanks today and they both stated they take payments for all other categories excluding K1 Visa. So how am I suppose to schedule an appointment online if I can't pay the required fee? Has anyone filed a K1 in Ghana that can shed some light on what I should do? Thank you in advance.

Visa Types and Application Fee Amounts

The application fees are shown below and apply to one visa application. The application fee for the most common nonimmigrant visa types is $160. This includes tourist, business, student and exchange visas. Most petition-based visas, such as work and religious visas, are $190. K visas cost $240 and the fee amount for E visas is $270. Please note that visa fees for K applicants will continue to be paid at the U.S. Embassy in Accra on the date of your appointment. The tables below are a more comprehensive list of visa types and fee amounts. Following the tables is a short list of nonimmigrant visas which do not require payment of an application fee

Hi. Please fill in your timeline so that we can better assist you. For a k1 visa you do not schedule the appointment yourself. The embassy will contact you and tell you when your appointment is. When you go for your interview then you will pay the fee. Please follow the K-1 visa guides listed on the site. Where did you get these instruction from?

I just went through the Accra embassy in January 2014. Once you get the call-in letter (it is supposed to come by mail, my fiance never got it though so we e-mailed the embassy and we were allowed to come with the e-mail reply they sent), it will instruct you to go there on Wednesday morning. You will then have to come back later in the day to pick up the paperwork, which will also have your interview date and time. Our interview date and time was about 5 weeks from the date the packet was picked up.

You pay the fee in Accra on the day of your interview. If I remember right, we were told to pay in USD, it should say in the packet of paperwork you pick up.

Yes, your fiance will take the fee to the embassy on the day of the interview. When your fiance receives packets 1 and 2 there will be an appointment letter. The appointment letter specifically states that the $240 must be paid in in the Cedi equivalent of dollar charge.

Don't be confused just follow the instructions given,

How do you get the information to pick up packet 1 and 2. my fiance went to Ecobank to pay the fees but was referred to the consulate. I did call the appointment line at 703-520-5273 this morning. The first lady i spoke to said my fiance should go to the embassy and pay on wednesday. it didn't sound right, so i called back and another lady said we should wait for an email from the consulate before going to pay. its so confusing since the consulate received the approved I 797 since 06/10/2015 thus 20 days ago. Can someone help

I've looked at the site recently and there is an update. K visa fees can be paid at GT bank.

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/gh/gh-niv-visafeeinfo.asp

Visa Types and Application Fee Amounts

The application fees are shown below and apply to one visa application. The application fee for the most common nonimmigrant visa types is $160. This includes tourist, business, student and exchange visas. Most petition-based visas, such as work and religious visas, are $190. K visas cost $240 and the fee amount for E visas is $205. Please note that visa fees for K applicants should be paid at any GT bank locations in Ghana. The tables below are a more comprehensive list of visa types and fee amounts. Following the tables is a short list of nonimmigrant visas which do not require payment of an application fee.

Although it say $240 in the paragraph the table on the website shows that K1 visa is $265

The site said the same thing when I petitioned in 2014 but the bank was Ecobank. I can almost guarantee that when your fiance receives the packets from the embassy he will be told to pay there on the day of he interview. Is there a date posted on the website that says when this was updated because I don't see a date on the site. You can't go by what's posted on these websites (so stop clicking on therm lol). However, if it has changed and you can pay the fees at a bank it will state so on one of of the forms in the packets. It seem as if you're overthinking this process from your other posts that I've read. I know this process is frustrating and you want to get to the next step swiftly but try to remain patient.
