I mentioned your post and my reply to my wife she laughed at me, and in her own way she said what Greenbaum said... it is a sign of her love and commitment, may be in a round about way but its a reason to... just smile.

Glad I made your wife make your wife chuckle.... My fiancé did tell me that she goes silent when she's 'out of sorts'. I'm stocking up on swiss chocolates and fashion statement shoes.... :o

I think she chuckled at my comments... for sure not your comments.

As for Chocolates, try Lindt 70% ;)

Yeah, it's either shoes, handbags, watches or sunglasses... or all of the above... Brand names are a big deal in the Philippines... you'll see women there going to the mall dressed better than women in the USA going to parties...

don't agree with all u said. Not all women are brand conscious . It's just those that wants to show off that thinks brand names stuff will make other ppl look at u like u got all the $$$ when most of them are using the fake or imitations...lol but it is true.

I don't care if idont wear Nike or Levis or have an LV or MK.. I worked hard and save my money instead of spending it for these nonsense..

just my 2 cents

When on Skype last night, I took the Sun Tzu approach and never mentioned it...she was totally oblivious about the night before (F)In the past I do remember when 'toiling in the fields', if a filipina avoids a direct question, best drop it :innocent:

Well of course there are gonna be exceptions, it's not a general, all-encompassing rule. All people are different, but it doesn't mean that what I said isn't true... Good for you that you save your money and don't spend it on "nonsense," but you can't seriously tell me that you don't appreciate some luxuries from time to time. My fiancee doesn't ask for stuff from me and she is very thrifty with the money I send (thank god), but when I do send her something like a genuine Michael Kors bag for Christmas for example, the smile on her face and the light in her eyes are priceless...

The "fake" merchandise business at Greenhills won't be enjoying so much success if the people weren't concerned with brand names... my fiancee hates that stuff, but is always overjoyed when I send her or the girls some genuine brand name stuff from time to time. It's like us men who say we don't care if we drive a Honda or a Mustang... but if we get a chance to drive a Mustang and we can afford it, we won't mind ;)

of course if its a gift sure it would make my eyes big lol . but what am saying is it don't bother me if my friends has this or that and I don't. I just don't spend my hard earned money for these kind of stuff. I buy and spend my money on what I need and what iwant. but like others say it's all up to u..

Jealousy? Yep, issue that I think was cleared already to me and my hubby for a year of being married.

But, one thing that even me as a filipina hates seeing my co-pinays do is when they already knew that that guy was taken or has a fiancée already, they still keeping in touch and feeling close too much, as if they were the gf/fiancée too, taking advantage like telling all the negative things happened in her life, problems that is not supposed to be opened up to a non-bf/fiancé/hubby thing story, and all the secrets she can share that she said she can't share it with her friends, sister or even to her parents because they hate them.

Yep, as a fiancee I have all the reason to be jealous not just to be technical as a filipina here. And opps, it's also difficult to trust co-pinays, others have bad intentions.

Just a reminder and an advice, when you guys found the one, please don't bother give attentions or entertain others already, even if the girl say its just okay with her for you to keep in touch with other filipina, don't believe on it because the real feeling that your gf/fiancee has deep inside is that she's hurt or its not okay. We filipina are jealous because we are stick to one person only, well not all but most of us so when they say they are jealous don't take it as a negative thing, its even an assurance of a good relationship in the future.

I don't have too much of a problem with jealousy. It has happened to me sometimes. A old ex would come up as we talked on Skype or viber. And I always do my best to change the topic. But sometimes she really want to know about things. And I let her know. It might make her jealous. But at the end I always remind her. That she is the only woman that I want in my life. And I did travel around the world to marry you. I would be nut to do anything to mess it up. And that I love her. The space between will always make people think bad things. The job of a good husband and wife. Is to make each other know how much they love each other. And that no matter what. You will always be together.

One of the first taboos I learned in the filipina dating game is to never mention another woman, no matter how innocent your intentions are. I spent nearly two years searching for 'the one'. I finally found her, and in a week or two hopefully our K-1 visa will read 'issued'.

I had been married before I met my fiancé and one on my cardinal rules, was and is, that in love there is trust. I believe, if I can't trust my wife, who can I trust ? In all the years I was married I never once invaded my ex-wifes privacy, simply not in my nature.

My fiancé spent 20 years in a modern asian city and was and is very independent woman. I've only ran into the jealousy thing twice in 14 months. The first time she mistook something I said, she never got angry, but let me know her feelings. Fine, the matter was cleared up when I realized it was a miscommunication.

The next incident happened early this morning, when I got a 3am phone call, "is Alex there"..? I mentioned the wrong number phone call to my fiancé innocently in an e-mail to her and I got the third-degree, "who called, Wrong phone number? U mean, u texted to somebody or u received a text?"

Ok, small bump in the road, no problem. We're both grounded people, but I have a small voice in the back of my mind saying will this be a greater problem down the road ? My first instinct is that we're bother stressed about our visa's or on the other hand I may find this jealousy thing getting out of control. I do have a strong personality, I know I will not put up with 'acting out', or verbal abuse.

I've been studying Philippine culture to help me understand the interpersonal dynamics, but I am open to constructive input :innocent:

Thanks Rob187

PS: on our three week engagement tour of the Philippines jealousy was never a problem, so I may be just thinking out loud

Are you going to stop seeing Alex or not?
