We just receive k1 approval on 7/25/14,

My current annual income is $18200 from 2007 to present according to my w2.

I would like to ask my employer to increse my annual income to $20800. Will they question about this when my fiancee in the interview ?

One more question is i have two pay check every month, each $700 dollars, 700 x 2 x 12 = $16800. Why i have one more month pay? My previous w2 all show i earn 18200 each year.

is that becasue of this? http://salongacenter.org/2013/03/what-is-the-13th-month-pay/

Pls help. Thanks.

If they question it, why would it matter? The answer is "my fiancé got a raise".

That's because there are actually 13 months in a year if you go by the formula of 4 weeks in a month. When you calculate your income it has to be your weekly wages by 52, if you work the entire year.

If you get paid every two weeks then you would multiply by 26. Therefore your $700 x 26 would be 18200 because there are 52 weeks in a year.

When you multiply 4 weeks and then by 12 months, you will get income that's short by a month.

Also getting a raise is a good thing because you would meet the poverty guidelines on your own without the need for a joint sponsor.

Its common for people to get raise (almost) every year.

I've gotten raise just about every year I've worked.

Just be sure to send your fiancee the employment verification

with the latest (increased) salary information.

Also, I agree with the post above if you are getting paid every 2 weeks,

which give you 52 weeks total.

BTW, my fiancee has interview coming up in Guangzhou on Aug 14th...

looks like you are just behind us.

Good luck.

Do you really think your employer is going to give you a 14.3% raise over last year? You could argue that you have gone 7 years without a raise and if you got about 2% per year that would be the same as the 14.3% now. There are many different ways to be paid--i.e. once a month, twice a month on set days (5th and 20th or 15th and 30th), every two weeks, or weekly. That gives you 12, 24, 26, or 52 paychecks per year. One thing to remember is that there are 2080 hours per year for a full-time person working 40 hours per week. That works out to 173.33 hours per month.

The USCIS will not question the raise as long as it is properly documented with a letter from your employer and/or recent pay stubs showing the new rate.

Good luck,

Dave
