I don't think we should let this conversation simmer into a social discussion thread, but if you guys are applying to become permanent residents in the US, you have a lot to learn about what it means to be an "American." These are children we are talking about. I'm sorry that it is going to take an extra 30 days to process your application, but I'm sure using the internet on your computer won't kill you. (As opposed to living in abject poverty in dangerous countries like Guatemala - look at their murder and violent crime rates.)

My fiancé is from the Philippines there are 100,000,000 people living on the edge, or in real poverty, so to be fair let's allow 333,000 children in every country in the world to enter the US undocumented and crime and poverty will be solved. Your entitled to your opinion, but spare me your sarcasm

Thanks, Rob187

People have sought out the US for generations as a refuge from their difficult reality. While we may not agree on the method for entry, but it's hardly new. This has happened for generations - the most recent wave of immigrants turns on the "new" people arriving. Let's try to think rationally and compassionately. I'm happy that we are all doing the right thing and applying to live legally in the US with our loved ones.

Thanks for letting me know I am not alone in this 60 or 120 days updated processing time. Soon it will be over. As regards the 30,000 kids, well I understand other people's frustrations but remember these are children. Maybe

We need to feel the other side of the divide to make a good judgement.

The point isn't what to do with the kids. Have them stay or send them back. That comes down to politics and personal preference. What IS the problem, however, is that those persons in charge of the decision making that initiated DACA did so without consideration of "how" it was actually going to get done. Complete administrative incompetence in my opinion. If the powers that be wanted to save the kids (and perhaps win votes) they should have put in place a process and staff to handle it. Dumping thousands of kids into the existing system was not the correct answer. It is especially frustrating to see tax paying citizens or residents, who pay additional fees for the process, get further delayed in an already difficult process as the DACA kids are processed for free. So whether we want to save the kids or not, that is separate to the administrative nightmare we are all involved in. It did not have to be this way.

That said, from what I've seen, the 60 day letter is a general distribution to everyone at the NVC stage. Some folks reported on the NVC thread that received the 60 day letter were case complete a few days later. Their docs were already previously submitted for some time. So the 60 days does not appear hard and fast, but more of a CYA letter that tells everyone what we already knew...delays were coming and NVC was swamped. All we can do is wait and try to be patient. It is the disappointing truth.

Well, the issue is that these kids will be STUCK in the system for years and then finally still won't be able to become proper legal residents. I think any child who has been in the USCIS system for more than 5 years should automatically become a US citizen. They are just children for crying out loud.

1. How long it will take to issue visa number ?

2. How long it will takes to issue send the AOS package ?

3. What is the meaning of Send AOS Package ? (and the documents I have to attached)

4. What is the meaning of Send IV Package ? (and the documents I have to attached)

Hope anyone reply me in this regard

Thank you.

You can read up on the process here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

You have to call NVC to obtain the case number and invoice number. Then you can fill out the DS-261 when it becomes available. The AOS and IV packages take 60 days for NVC to open and process them.

Hello everyone,

Has anyone received "Case complete" notification ever since the email of delay in processing regarding that 60 days from the time of documents submission? Just wondering. Gives me hope that ours should happen soon too. This process is taking forever!
