Yes we are using a lawyer and since in her words I am so "resourceful", pretty much sent me the email she received from NVC with both invoices (IV and AOS fees) and told me to go ahead and pay, then fill out the DS260 but WAIT for her to review before I submit.

She is also being a pain not wanting us to use i864 EZ because she says "her firm has never used it" and she does not want to risk checklists for something they have not submitted before. OMG. We are talking about a BIG firm in SF.

You guys have been way more help than someone that does this for a living.

I really do appreciate all your comments and replies!!

So glad you're at this stage now. Sorry that your lawyer is being such a pain in the a**. Good luck with her. I'm still waiting for my DS-260 to be reviewed. The very last step. It's been 31 business days. grrrr

And Una - #######?! LOL the 864EZ has such a lower risk of checklists that anything!! It is ridiculously shorter (do they charge by the page?!) and so much more straight forward!! my goodness :P

On our end, we had our medical Tuesday in Toronto...... what a nightmare!! Kids and I were out the door at 3:30 am, drove 4.5 hours for an 8:30 appointment. Get there to hear the witch of a receptionist say that she called Monday and didn't speak to me so cancelled our appointments! I was livid.!! She kept making it sound like it was my fault that they screwed up!! Another three hours waiting and we finally saw the doc :P UGH!!!! We finally made it back home about 6pm and, oh man, did I sleep hard last night!!!

But at least it's done and now on to the interview!!!

Thank you both for the good vibes, I guess I am stuck in the system until the website is resolved or someone decides to review my DS260. I will call later this week to see if i get lucky and talk to a supervisor. Nothing about this process makes sense, its like the twilight zone, lol .

Hola Family!

Two weeks and we are still unable to pay fees online. NVC reps keep telling us to pay by mail... but when I ask them if this will unlock the DS260 they say the site is having issues and if I can't pay online it is likely I still won't be able to fill out the DS260 even if we make the payments by mail.

As you know, I learned a couple of weeks ago about my termination coming Jul 24th. My plan was to go back to visit my husband and wait the process out, but with these delays and issues I really am hesitant about being without a job for longer than 4 months. What if the NVC stage holds months and months wait for us as it did before, at USCIS? I am not obsessing over anything... but I am thinking about my options. I have been exploring opportunities in other business units for the company I work for (it is a tight industry to it would be hard to move away from it in Mexico). I have lined up a couple of jobs I am interested in and I have been asked to submit my resume and follow the process.

Sooooooooo... I just want to ask you...

If I were offered a new job in the company, in the US, do you think this would be a valid reason for expedite at NVC stage? I know expedites are usually health emergency related, but I have seen a couple based on financial hardship. If my not accepting a good job offer impacts the USC financial situation... would this work?

I am not obsessing like I said.. but I am desperate to complete this process.... and hopefully without being jobless for a long time!

Any input is appreciated!!!

As for accepting the job - it never hurts to ask for the expedite.... you can show proof that your job is terminating on a specific date and with the stage you're at, accepting any employment in Mexico is silly since it'd be short term.... Write up a really good letter (email) and attach lots of proof and send it off as an expedite request. The worst thing possible would be if they said no which really doesn't change where you're at now anyways.....

Hi, I'm fairly certain that NVC would not consider a new job in the US as a reason for an expedite, however I'd be inclined to strongly emphasize the loss of your current job as a factor creating hardship - if you have property and/or savings in Mexico though it may be hard to justify hardship.

Bearing that in mind I'd be wary about mentioning a job in the US as they may think that you've colluded with your current employer to suddenly find yourself jobless just as your visa application is at the stage it is!

I have not heard from recruiter yet... but you do bring a good point.

How many of you guys are stuck with pending review of DS-260? Completed my DS-260 on 16-Apr-2015 and I'm still waiting on it being reviewed, nearly 3 months now, so infuriating!!!!
