ok so here's the situation now... my husband went to his interview, they couldn't find his ds260 in their database (but we can see it in ceac) so they said they'd reschedule it when they could access it... this was last month. today he went again to take a new PC (other one had expired while we were waiting for his interview to be scheduled) and asked if they had been able to access his form, and they said no they will call him when they can. has anyone ever heard of this or experienced this? He's in Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire ... its very frustrating cuz we are at the very last step and they are dragging their butts :/ is there anything we can do at this point?

ugh :( so frustrating!! if you're able to access it yourself, are you able to print it out and hand it to them??

((hugs)) Good luck!

Finally an interview on July 16. Almost over.

Woot! Congrats :)

Guys... if my husband didnt file in one of the years they ask for taxes because he was not making any money (living in Mexico with me)... how do we go about that? what do we put in the i864 EZ question where they ask year of taxes and amount? Would a letter explaining why he didnt file suffice?

Thanks!

P.D.

I learned yesterday that my employment will be terminated on Jul 24th. I am sad because I feel they did not want to transfer me to the U.S. ... but then again I am alright because that makes my visiting my husband again easier.

I believe they are most concerned about current income. From what I have read, he should include a letter/note explaining that he did not file in XXXX because he did not earn any income that year..... Some people have said they add a bright yellow sticky note on that part of the I-864EZ saying "refer to letter".....

Sorry to hear about the job :( Hopefully you will be Home for good with Hubby very soon!!

Thank you!! (L)(F)(L)(F)(L):luv:

We received the AOS and IV fees on Friday. Lawyer received the email from NVC on Thursday night.

Do you have any tips for paying? We have been trying to access with no luck. As for the DS260... this is avilable only after we pay, right?

We are getting the error below:

Sign In Failed
The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered do not match our records. Please try again or click on the Contact the NVC hyperlink if you have forgotten your Case Number or Invoice Identification Number.

I will NOT obsess over this anymore.. but if you have any tips or can let us know how long did it take for your info to be accepted at the Fee payment portal, we appreciate!

Congratulations on making it to NVC!

If I recall it took about a week after receiving my email from NVC before the fee part became available. Are you paying the fees directly to NVC or do you send them to your lawyer who then forwards them to NVC?

Presumably you are entering the three letters as well as the numbers for your case #? So your case number should have 3 letters and 10 numbers, whilst your invoice number has 8 numbers.

The system does tend to keep you waiting between each step - and as you've already found out, that wait can vary considerably. I have noticed recently that there have been various threads about the NVC website having loads of problems since they 'updated' the site. It could well be that you've landed at NVC just in time for them to keep you waiting beyond expected times!!

EDIT: The DS-260 did not become available until after payment of the IV fee, which did not become available until they'd reviewed the DS-261 ( It took about 40 days for me but I believe it's much shorter now, however I'm not sure whether changing the structure of payments was one of the things which they've updated)

from what I've read, one of two things

(1) what Devonian mentioned - give it a few more days :( their system seems to be really finicky :P double/triple check what/how you're entering.....

(2) grab a book to read and call NVC.... I recall a couple mentioning getting that error and when they called they found out that either their case number of IIN were different (for whatever reason) :P :P

Since you are using a lawyer I think (don't quote me) they will invoice the AOS and IV fee's together.... either way, once you have the bar-code document cover sheet you can submit the AOS and Civil documents :) once the IV fee shows as paid, a few days later the IV application (DS260) becomes available :)

Still cheering for you Una!! I'm so happy to see you in this stage :) :)

This is posted on the London US embassy's website but applies to all countries....

"The Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs is currently experiencing technical problems with our visa systems. This issue is not specific to any particular country, citizenship document, or visa category. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working urgently to correct the problem and restore full operability.

As soon as the situation is resolved, we will update this message.

Form DS-260

We are aware that some applicants continue to experience technical difficulties accessing Form DS-260. The issues are intermittent, therefore we suggest that you return to https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Default.aspxperiodically to try to complete the form."
