Thanks for the reply. I sent in a marriage certificate. My marriage is an arranged marriage so evidence is scarce.. I-130 instructions said that in addition to marriage certificate, they need bona fide evidence. I heard it's very hard to update the application once it's sent in.

I found a few links here on VJ that might help you

Sent I-130 to Chicago for my wife yesterday. The journey begins !! We both live together in Romania and I the USC have temporary residence here. I'm curious to see if things move any faster because of this. Good luck to all of the other August filers ![/quote

Hey DrewC! If you have filed from abroad (Romania) and if you meet certain requirements, your case may get expedited. Hopefully you will hear some good news in a few weeks!

Good Luck to you all ?

By certain requirements I mean, if the US citizen is also a resident of the abroad country and in your case is Australia or if you are legally working in Australia. Australia*(Changed their policy and will now only accept Direct Processing of the Family-Based I-130 Petition in cases where the Petitioner is a resident and physically resides in the country for at least 6 months.) But please contact the US consulate in Aus for further information on this DCF.

I am sure hoping so. I included a copy of my Romanian residence permit hoping that might help speed things up. Our package was delivered to the USCIS PO box on the 25th. I will update you all when i receive an update from them!

Just a comment: On the timeline section, I am seeing my adjudication estimate day move further away... it was at Jan 5th when I started filling my timeline and now I check and it is at the end of Jan. That is still under the 5 month window, but getting closer to the six months that we usually see for regular processing.

I know these are only estimates but it is based on data that other VJ's are inputting, so that does mean something.

Hopefully we all have a smooth process.

Best,

UnaMexicana

Yes, the adjucation estimate dates are further shifting away! Mine moved from Jan 17 to 25! But we shouldn't let these delays/long processes to hinder our good spirits and positive attitude! I know it's a long long wait but it's not going to be like this forever. Patience is rewarding and every day we are getting closer to the day that we all be reunited with our loved ones!

I wish all of you fast processing and NO RFE!

I got my NOA1 yesterday, priority date of 18th August (we live in France so the post took a while!). When I updated my VJ timeline it gives me the following prediction:

"Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated between September 10, 2014 and September 14, 2014*. "

This can't possibly be correct, can it? Less than a month? I would be over the moon if it is possible but I am also very weary about getting my hopes up!

Does anyone know how these predictions are calculated in the timelines? Obviously this website doesn't have more information other than the dates/places I've specified for the timeline (e.g. filing date, service centre, etc), so why would mine say September and not January like most of the people in this thread? Very strange! Maybe some people have entered super quick processing times for the California SC and their statistics are throwing off the calculation. I did see one couple that had only 26 days from filing to NOA2, so fingers crossed!

I just received NOA1 today, priority date of Aug 25th (that was fast!), being transferred to California as well. I have the similar timeline data "September 20, 2014 and September 24, 2014*. "

I don't know how accurate that is, but I would have to assume it's based on filing from abroad and being transferred to California, which with current trends looks like the "fast track" is still happening to people in our situation.

If you haven't seen this thread, it's very encouraging: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/357465-usc-petitioner-living-abroad/page-41 The fast-track or "expedite" for people filing from abroad has been happening again for a few months now. Super long, but you can read the first page for the intro then skip to page 39-41 for what's been happening recently.

I'm feeling very optimistic! Looks like there are quite a few of us August filers, filing from abroad.

Wow that's great news, I didn't realise it could be sped up by that much! Thanks for the link to that thread, very interesting information! For some reason I assumed the bulk of these applications would be from abroad to begin with, which I guess is not the case.

Unfortunately, I noticed a mistake on my i-130 this morning (see this thread; http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/369824-made-a-mistake-form-i-130-possible-rfe/?p=7212657) so it might slow things down for me as they might need an RFE to clarify this issue.

I have also just received my NOA1 by email, and our case has been transferred to the California Service Center!!!!

When putting this information in my timeline It gave me the adjudicated case estimate dates of September 19, 2014 and September 23, 2014.

Now if that has some validity it would truly be a huge confidence booster in this whole process. I know most everyone has the same hopes, to have their relative join them ASAP in the US.

Good luck to all of the other August Filers and to those of us living broad and have had our cases sent to the California center, lets keep everyone updated!!
