My case just got completed this morning at NVC. It took 21 days from my scan date....I still can't believe it . I am keeping everyone in my prayers. Sending good vibes to you all.

Hi about to send in our AOS & IV package. Could someone let me know if the below documents should do? We are over the poverty line but thought we'll submit all the below just in case.

Also my husband (petitioner/ applicant) was divorced earlier so do I need to also send in a copy of his divorce decree (which was already submitted to USCIS)?

I also make above the 125% poverty guideline, but i turned in 6 months worth of paystubs from my jobs, my W2s for 2014, as well as my IRS transcripts for 2012-2014.

They only ask for originals at the time of the interview, so I sent all copies of our documents (birth, marriage, divorce). They will need to see his original divorce certificate though. We had to order ours through Australia and it took about a month to do so (since he only had a copy on him). Just something to keep in mind.

But just make sure that the checklist you recieved and will be submitting with your IV/AOS Package is completely checked off for what ever is applicable to your case.

Congrats to everyone who's past the first hurdle. We are at the NVC stage and will be sending the pkg soon. For those who sent in the AOS & IV did you get to pay for both or was the IV stuck and you had to send the AOS sheet twice? Our IV has not been invoiced yet and so far people are stating that both packages can be sent with just the AOS sheet ?? I just want to get this all over with without a checklist.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused!!

Surely the first part of the immigration process, the I-130, for a spouse to come to the US as an LPR (initially CPR) is specifically to check the applicant petitioner's background and the validity of the marriage certificate? If the majority of the checks were on the applicant then why would they not ask for the details which you are later required to give in the DS-260 (Immigrant visa form)? It would make the requirement to obtain a police certificate obsolete if they already knew that the applicant was a miscreant!!

There! You said it yourself. If "miscreancy" by the petitioner and/applicant is already established (not merely "suspected") by USCIS, that's grounds for rejecting a case and a DS260 review becomes unnecessary, suffice to say a police paper then becomes irrelevant.

Overseas missions and USCIS are charged with the same mandate under Homeland Security / DOS. The latter simply has clearer lenses on country-specific details than the former, and can make a final decision based on more fine tuned facts that the folks on the mainland (USCIS) have no ready access too. Furthermore, Homeland security is concerned with security of the homeland against those who already inside and majorly with those coming in. That's the mandate. It makes sense that fine combing is initiated thoroughly on both the applicant and the petitioner...more or less so the applicant depending on results of background checks.

Hi I just sent in my AOS & IV packages yesterday.

I inquired from NVC on 2 occasions and while the first agent said it is better to send the documents after paying both fee's and completing DS-260 the other agent confirmed that I could send them in right away. I have also noted on many timelines of others that the packages are sent immediately after maybe paying the AOS fee. I only waited this long as I was waiting for my police clearance.

Based on what I have read you need to use the document cover page on the NVC welcome letter, tick in the documents attached and attaché it to your package. I sent both sets of documents (pinned separately with an individual document cover letter for my AOS set and IV set) in the same package and now keeping the faith and hoping for a smooth & quick run with no checklist.

Finishing up the DS-260 and 2 quick questions-

1) Do I include my husbands (Petitioner) son's details under information about children?

2) There's a character limitation on the text box where I need to mention my 'given names' and I can't complete my full name. Is that OK and I just include whatever fits in or do I use initials?

Whoo hoo!! my husband did his medical exam today as well and was told it would take about a week until the results would be ready for pick up. Also submitted the police certificate request to the police headquarters (since the protocol for Fiji is to have the police certificate sent straight from the police headquarters to the US embassy) today, and was told it could take up to 3 weeks. So fingers crossed everything will be done at just the right time so my husband will have all necessary documents by the time of his interview. Fingers crossed Suva US embassy has few applications processing and he'll have his interview next month!! (or is that too much wishful thinking? hahaha)}

Hi. I call Just now, wait in line 1 hours 20 minutes, but It was great, she ask for My case number, beneficiary and peticioner info, i give It and she ask me how she can help me, i Just ask There is something new? She told me no but i see You paid affidavit, you have some papers that start to be on system today, and You do your ds-261 and then she says: are You Going to be the agent? I say: yes, but with the Litle change on last name.she says: Litle change? If You Make changes You supost to contact us and mail or email some paper work. I said: no i dont have to Make a change, it Just that My i130 i filed with My last name as i birth but My ds261 i do with My actual last name. She says: Oh ok, now i understand, Any way i would like to take a look in your form and in less than a minute, she told me ok, i look at your form and You will get email with the fee payment from today to 7 days. Later i give her the other case number, she do everything and told me the same.

Same as You the Nice Lady told me that they will review My paperwork withing 45 days from today.I Just have 2 weeks and 3 days at nvc and 10 days from When i receive a invoice and case number.

I received yesterday this email from USCIS:

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

So I guess I should start calling the NVC in about two weeks?
