I wrote back that I wasn't interested in participating. It's bad enough with the NVC wait drama, why add more stress to the plate....In other news my AOS status has finally changed to "paid"

Hi, i was looking at You timeline and i see that nvc receive You case in 2/24 and My question is did they really give You case number 3 days after?

This morning I was notified via email that our I-130 has been approved.

USCIS received our application on 8/26/14, approved 3/19/15, no RFEs.

Now, we just wait for NVC to receive notification from USCIS so we can pay the visa processing fees.

Then we'll need to file for my wife's I-601a waiver, which according to statistics is taking about 90 to adjucate.

Hoping for a fast approval for the rest of the August 2014 filers.

Yup, I called them on the 26 and got my case number! They said they entered my information the 24th, I have no idea when they received my case. The I-130 was approved the end of Jan.

Hi,

It just took this long.

I know this because some weeks ago I submitted a case inquiry and they replied saying that my application was in queue to be adjucated.

I suggest you contact one of your senators. They should be able to shed some light on why your case is stuck on security checks.

Best of luck to you.

Hahaha You are SO sweet!

Well husband called, no info. As usual, operators trying to be less and less help.

I asked him to make an infopass... do you guys think he should or should we go for the congressional inquiry?

I keep telling myself that things happen for a reason... but your cheering and your comfort really help me!

Many hugs,

10 days away from the 8 month mark, my friends. Still no word or update.

This is creating stress with my husband as we have different approaches to what seems to be an endless waiting.

Just curious... am I the only one in the august group to have been served with the "application on hold due to background and security checks"?

Best as always,

This is torture for you and your family / husband. I'll be the first to break it to you: Your case seem to have fallen into the dreaded administrative black hole that not even congress / senator involvement can expedite. I say this with great certainty and authority. I hate to say this, but it's perhaps better to get to the inevitable already. Your wait is going to be another 7 to 12 months ....12 months. Mexican law authorities aren't very quick and cooperative in relinquishing info to the feds? They're oftentime too disorganized to give timely info needed to finalize your case.

What can you to cushion the wait? Perhaps charity/community volunteer work, helping the needy, learning a new instrument, work on financial goals, engage in activities that your are passionate about that spans a great length of time like ....say...months.

Praying helps. And keeping busy and keeping mentally and physically active / preoccupied helps best. :) :)

10 days away from the 8 month mark, my friends. Still no word or update.

This is creating stress with my husband as we have different approaches to what seems to be an endless waiting.

Just curious... am I the only one in the august group to have been served with the "application on hold due to background and security checks"?

Best as always,

UnaMexicana

Sorry to hear you're still stuck.

Somebody mentioned that it may be the Mexican authorities lack of speed but if your hubby is naturalised presumably he's already been through the system (and have received a clean bill of health) and if he was born a USC then the Mexican authorities wouldn't be called upon?

(Assuming that he's of Hispanic origin)...Is there a local Hispanic orientated church near him? I know there's one local to my wife in Florida and they are very pro-active in helping locals with immigration affairs, several of her students have found their help invaluable.

Praying for your situation and our fellow hopefuls.
